So Much BAD MALE BEHAVIOR to Blog...

After almost two months of worldwide publicity as the worst man on the planet, there is one person who is thanking shock jock Don Imus and Virginia Tech mass murder Cho Seung-Hui for successively over the last week or so grabbing that "honor." And that is Anna Nicole Smith's attorney and toxic-codependent Howard K. Stern.

Below is the finalized blog entry that was in draft just before Cho's rampage. Comment on that and other horrors of bad male behavior follow in the next couple posts.

Imus should have been fired long ago for bigotry, just like MSNBC cable television fired the disgusting Michael Savage for some bigoted comment soon after they hired him several years back. Every time I'd accidentally catch Imus on television in the morning he'd be saying something that annoyed or disgusted me.
.
As for the original Howard Stern, I confess. I had my radio alarm clock tuned to his station. Every time 6:30 a.m. rolled around and I heard his voice ranting bigoted obscenities at me I instantly would be shocked wide awake.
.
I lived for a while with a guy who LOVED Howard Stern, went to New York City to appear in a crowd scene in his movie, and never cashed the paycheck for his role in the movie, much as he needed the money. Considering this was a mixed race guy, it was pretty absurd to hear him, from time to time, spout Howard-esque ridicule against other people of color.

Pointing out that such adulation was self-defeating and even self-hating didn't make much of an impression on him. He would say it was "just fun" or he would yell out in a guttural voice probably copped from Howard or one of his flunkies "HOWARD ROCKS!"

And then there is Howard K. Stern.
.
I confess, I've followed every lurid detail of the case since Anna Nicole Smith's February 2007 death. I knew little about her, but found her feisty and funny when I'd chance upon some news or entertainment report about her. However, the controversies surrounding her death immediately roused the radical feminist in me.
.
Smith's story is an exceptionally high profile case of an obsessed, controlling male -- Howard K. Stern -- using a variety of means to manipulate and dominate a woman he "loves." The show biz money -- and the potential for Smith's ex-husband's millions -- were just the icing on the Anna Nicole cake to Howard. (Though he doubtless got a lot more money out of the relationship than the "nothing but my rent" that he claims to have received.)

Sue me, Howard if I NOTICE news reports that: she had a falling out with her family soon after you became her lawyer and confidant; that you spoiled her with your constant attention to her needs; that you constantly lured her into using (prescription) drugs saying things like "Come, on, Mama. Try a little something. I'll do it with you."; that when she was visiting friends and not under your wing she'd be straight and outgoing but as soon as you showed up she'd immediately go "incommunicado" and you would not let others have access to her; that you rarely would let her mother and later even her beloved son speak to her by phone; that she spent many days drugged and asleep, until you would rouse her for some profit-making venture; that when she fell in love with Larry Birkhead you insisted on sleeping downstairs on the couch and even would barge into their bedroom without knocking; that after she became pregnant by Birkhead, you gave her an ultimatum - "me or him" (i.e., me and all the drugs you want or him and no more drugs); that when that ultimatum so upset her she ended up in the hospital - which tried to wean the pregnant woman off drugs - you sneaked the drugs into the hospital so you could keep giving her her fix; that you constantly reminded her that Larry might seek sole custody of the child because of her drug use; that you helped her find a hideaway outside the country, somewhere you could keep her safely to yourself; that you took a (later widely shown) video of an obviously drugged and pregnant Anna Nicole where you joke she is "doing mushrooms" and claim the video can make "a lot of money"; that the drugs and seclusion so concerned her son Daniel he met with a private detective in his first visit to the Bahamas, claiming Anna Nicole was being held in a drugged state like "a virtual prisoner" by "Svengali" Stern; that right after the birth of the daughter, you picked up Daniel at the airport, and within 24 hours he was dead, allegedly because methadone you were seen giving him reacted badly with other prescription medicines he was taking; that you sold photos of Anna, her son and daughter to tabloids the day after he died; that you made sure your name was put on the birth certificate as father of the child, though you knew perfectly well it could not be you; that eight days after Anna's son's death, you convinced her to wear a wedding dress and participate in a comical "commitment ceremony" where you both jumped off a yatch into the ocean; that you took video of an obviously drugged Anna with her child; that you let Anna's psychiatrist prescribe multiple drugs for her in your name; that you claimed that "media attention" prevented you from taking Anna to the hospital in Florida when she developed blood poisoning from a dirty needle to the rump, when the truth doubtless is you feared doctors in hospital might recognize the severity of her drug addiction; finally, that you probably know who gave Anna Nicole that final shot chloral hydrate that the coroner believes, in interaction with the other drugs in her system, killed her. It might even have been you.

In Anna Nicole Smith's system at death were prescription anti-seizure, anti-anxiety, muscle relaxant, pain and sleeping aids and sedatives like: Ativan (lorazepam), Cipro (ciprofloxacin), Klonopin (clonazepam), Methadone, Noctec (chloral hydrate), Robaxin (methocarbamol), Soma (meprobamate), Topamax (topiramate), Tylenol (acetaminophen), and Valium (diazepam).

Once Anna Nicole was dead, Howard K.Stern refused to take a paternity test and only under court order released her will which put him in complete control of the estate, while explicitly excluding all future children, including Danielynn. Gee, is there any question WHY media pundits and legal analysts like Nancy Grace would be yelling BLOODY MURDER?

Obviously, after almost two months of worldwide publicity worse than that heaped on Bush's current "Satan" Mahmoud Amadinejad -- and with the Bahama's coroner's inquest on Daniel's death fast approaching -- Howard did not contest giving up the baby to the DNA-proved father Larry Birkhead.
.
Of course, lots of people use others' dependencies -- on drugs, booze, sex, love, attention, slavish capitulation, etc. -- to control them. Is toxic co-dependence a crime?
.
Some may say that at least Stern didn't beat Smith into submission, or shoot her when he feared she was leaving him for another man, has had the husband of a former Playboy Playmate. But the woman is still dead! Drugging a woman to death -- or encouraging any friend or lover's self-destructive addictions to alcohol, food, cigarettes, etc. as a way of keeping them dependent -- obviously are pathetic and cruel ways to get or keep love. And at some point they may become truly criminal acts.

That being said, my actual view on punishment for crime is very close to that of the famous defense attorney Clarence Darrow, as described in his book Resist Not Evil, for which I wrote the Loompanic's edition introduction. The cure for all the bad male behavior that is destroying the world is not punishment, but love -- and taking away their nastiest toys, physical and psychological. Women, we've got to start doing it, NOW!

The entry included a truly terroristic looking photograph I took immediately thereafter. Today I saw a billboard that I would really enjoy being arrested photographing. Would love to get the advertisers into court to explain their intent! Thought I'd share it.

Washington Post Features Vermont Secession & "V" Protest!

Statists claim that the Sunday, April 1, 2007 Washington Post story “The Once and Future Republic of Vermont” by two self-described Vermont secessionists, publisher Ian Baldwin and professor Frank Bryan, was just an April Fools Day joke. However, these excerpts from the article prove it is not:

Vermont was once an independent republic, and it can be one again. We think the time to make that happen is now. Over the past 50 years, the U.S. government has grown too big, too corrupt and too aggressive toward the world, toward its own citizens and toward local democratic institutions. It has abandoned the democratic vision of its founders and eroded Americans' fundamental freedoms.

Vermont did not join the Union to become part of an empire.
.
Some of us therefore seek permission to leave.
...
Vermont seceded from the British Empire in 1777 and stood free for 14 years, until 1791. .. No other state, not even Texas, governed itself more thoroughly or longer before giving up its nationhood and joining the Union...It's quite simple. The United States has destroyed the 10th Amendment, which says that "powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

The present movement for secession has been gathering steam for a decade and a half. In preparation for Vermont's bicentennial in 1991, public debates -- moderated by then-Lt. Gov. Howard Dean -- were held in seven towns before crowds that averaged 230 citizens. At the end of each, Dean asked all those in favor of Vermont's seceding from the Union to stand and be counted. In town after town, solid majorities stood. The final count: 999 (62 percent) for secession and 608 opposed...

In October 2005, about 300 Vermonters attended a statewide convention on the question of secession. Six months later, the annual Vermont Poll of the University of Vermont's Center for Rural Studies found that about 8 percent of respondents replied "yes" to peaceful secession, arguably making Vermont foremost among the many states with secessionist movements (including Alaska, California, Hawaii, New Hampshire, SouthCarolina and Texas).

..Against this backdrop, secessionists from all over the state will gather in June to plan a grass-roots campaign to get at least 200 towns to vote by 2012 on independence.

I'm sure we can be confidant that the authors and some of their cohorts attended the First North American Secession Convention in Burlington, Vermont last November, 2006.

We The People Foundation liked my OBEY THE GOVERNMENT - OR WHAT? video and featured it in its list of reports on the event - resulting in 8000 hits in just 5 days. Plus a couple people circulated the link to various lists before I even got a chance to announce it! My first big hit video. Check it out.
Just today someone on a United for Peace and Justice working group list responded to a proposal that Americans should launch a general strike if Bush bombs Iran by stating we should consider secession. That is was a "moral issue." This goes well beyond the usual peace activist threat to raise (nonviolent) hell until Bush/Cheney are impeached and prosecuted if they dare attack Iran.

I replied: If Hillary is elected and keeps up her warmongering ways not only will anti-war people be ready to secede, so will all the rightwingers and gunowners!

Yes, we are going to live in interesting times!

Constitutionalists and Declarationists

Constitutionalists are people who believe that we can fix the U.S. Constitution by interpreting it narrowly as it is written -- or they believe it is written. Of course, some Constitutionalists will interpret it as meaning more freedom on their pet issues, but not on other people's pet issues with which they disagree.

Declarationists pretty much agree the Constitution is a failed experiment because its various provisions have not been able to protect us from encroaching tyranny. They hold as their founding principle the Declaration of Independence and especially its third sentence asserting the people's "right to alter or abolish" government. They may promote a variety of constitutional alternatives. I promote radical political decentralization and confederated communities at Secession.net.

March 30, 2007 I joined the We the People Foundation "Right to Petition" Vigil at the White House which featured dozens of "V for Vendetta" characters whose message was "Obey the Constitution or Else."
.
Unfortunately, a few of them did not like my ad hoc costume or my sign below reminding everyone the Declaration of Independence says "it is the right of the people to alter or abolish" government. But a couple agreed that that was one thing "or else" might mean.See my VERY cool video with controversial background music.

AIPAC Protest Rates TWO Videos!

Our local DC Antiwar Network initiated a March 12 protest against the annual American Israel Political Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference. About 70 activists showed up chanting over and over again our protest theme: CONGRESS, STAND UP TO AIPAC. Hopefully all those representatives -- as well as Barak Obama and Hillary Clinton who had meet and greet rooms -- heard us as they entered the "Congress" entrance. One video features photos of an AIPACer who got a woman protester in a headlock, resulting in the arrest of both. The other features more peaceful aspects of the protest. Middlebury Institute Secession Web Site

The Middlebury Institute for the study of separatism, secession, and self-determination has updated its web site. Check it out. Features include a report on The First North American Secessionist Convention, held November 3-5, 2006 in Burlington,Vermont which has links to two Youtube videos. Plus there is a (still under construction) Registry of North American Separatist Organizations. Several excellent articles are linked as well.

Bottom of the Sunspot Cycle - Ho Ho Hummm

If future readers wonder why my blog lingered on that cute little butt for six whole weeks, blame it on the sunspot cycle. I'm too bored, depressed, blah-ed out to opine, to go to many activist events, to do much more than read email, surf the web, eat, watch television and put off looking for a job for yet another week. Where, oh, where is the Manic Moore?

If you think I'm joking when I say "blame it on the sunspot cycle," see my article SUNSPOT CYCLES AND ACTIVIST STRATEGY. I introduce the article by saying: In the mid-1980s, writing in two small radical publications, I predicted the dissolution of the Soviet Union and freedom for eastern Europe for the exact month that it did in fact happen. I did not predict it specifically for November of 1989. I predicted it for the height of the next eleven year sunspot cycle. The height occurred in November of 1989. And, as this article argues, this was no coincidence. For sunspots give off solar flares that increase negative ionization on earth--and negative ionizations increases human excitablity and activity. We are now at the end of another sunspot cycle, a bottoming out of human excitability and, if we are lucky, a period of relative peace. The next height of the cycle --and of mass demonstrations, riots, revolutions and wars -- will be around 2010.

What do I predict for 2010? Assuming nuclear war has NOT destroyed half of humanity -- and even more so if it has!! -- I predict the first great worldwide-networked secessionist uprising. And if we are lucky, the last! The Age of Aquarius in one great Apocalypse of Love?

Well, those of us who think it's a good idea, better get off ALL OUR CUTE BUTTS and get it going. If we can't motivate ourselves through sunspots we'll just have to do it through love, hope and inspiration.

Brain Chemistry, Addiction and Self-Actualization

Valentine's Day deserves two posts! This one is about the excellent article in the politically repulsive rag the Washington Post entitled An Affair Of the Head - They Say Love Is All About Brain Chemistry. Will You Be Dopamine? The author quotes an expert: "Love is a drug," says Helen Fisher, an anthropologist at Rutgers University and author of "Why We Love: The Nature and Chemistry of Romantic Love." "The ventral tegmental area is a clump of cells that make dopamine, a natural stimulant, and sends it out to many brain regions" when one is in love. "It's the same region affected when you feel the rush of cocaine."

The (appropriately anonymous) fellow pictured was my drug of choice in 2005, replacing food. And I lost 30 pounds without trying in three months. Of course, after I decided I couldn't deal with all his addictions (including his addiction to my losing even more weight), I let the infatuation go. Deprived of that high, I returned to my primary addiction and during 2006 slowly gained back all 30 pounds.

I've been going to various 12 step programs trying to overcome addictions to both food and love for almost 30 years. They've worked a little. I'm still alive and not yet homeless in the streets. I hold out hope that some combination of safe drug use (ibogaine??) and proper therapeutic techniques can help individuals break free of their substance or "process" addictions, whatever they may be.
.
But societies themselves can be addictive - which is why we need a revolution. A great book on that topic is Ann Wilson Schaef's When Society Becomes an Addict, available, of course, on Amazon. Part of the description there reads: Rather than focusing on addictions to such substances as alcohol, drugs, or food or to processes such as gambling, sex, or work, this interesting and unusual treatise uses the concept of relationship addiction. According to this concept, an individual is seen as always being in a superior (or inferior) position to another, an addictive situation that creates self-centeredness, dishonesty, and greed. The symptons associated with relationship addiction are equated with those associated with the "White Male System" (described in Schaef's Women's Reality , LJ 6/15/81) and provide telling insights into why we have a dysfunctional society many of whose members are addicted to substances and processes.

Oh, yes, how could I forget. Women’s Reality: An Emerging Female System is another great Schaef book. Schaef is not quite a feminist decentralist secessionist, but she presents some basic theories useful to that viewpoint.
.
Well, readers, time will tell if my food addiction kills me before love or the revolution saves me. Or presents some new level of aggravation!

Happy Valentines vs. Bigotry

Today, when there was yet another brouhaha over alleged bigotry on a list serve, I sent an earlier version of the "Real vs. Imagined Bigotry" piece below. Then I updated it for this blog.

Let's face it, right now Bush/Olmert and Company are willing to use nuclear weapons and even start a world nuclear war because of their REAL bigotry. They oppose the possibility that Muslims, Arabs, Russians, Chinese -- or anyone besides Judeo-Christians (preferably White Anglo-Saxon and Jewish/Israeli) -- might control the world's resources and political/military institutions. They would rather destroy the world! And, of course, they use false allegations of bigotry to excuse their "war on terrorism" which really is a war on Muslims and Arabs -- and any group that stands up for the individual or group or state rights of those not part of their religious/ethnic clique. (Obviously, my statements will be viewed subjectively by various readers who may stick them into some other category than that which I would, i.e., a statement analyzing real bigotry.)

Anyway, think about the below and let's hope that there are NOT only a billion of us left on the planet to celebrate a very irradiated Valentine's Day NEXT year. . .

I've been depressed the last few dreary winter months. Between the Israel Lobby/neocon push to make Bush bomb Iran, the peace movements and Democrats' half-hearted attempts to stop it, and being constantly broke working more to stop it than support myself, I've been pretty down.

Nevertheless United for Peace and Justice's star-studded Saturday, January 27th 150,000 plus person rally and march did cheer me! See my last blog entry.

Happy Ground Hog Day – Reincarnation Rocks!

Last week I watched Bill Murray's 1993 comedy Groundhog Day (buy movie) for the first time in a couple years. I was reminded it was one of my favorite movies -- and why.

In the movie, Murray is a selfish, egocentric television reporter named Phil Conners (as in conman?) sent to cover the February 2nd “Groundhog Day” celebration in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. (I watched the actual celebration on television this morning!)
.
After an annoying day where snow forces him to sleep over at a local inn, he awakens to the sound of Sonny and Cher’s "I got you, babe!" on the clock radio. He discovers to his horror that once again it is February 2, Groundhog Day - that day, and every day thereafter, over and over again.
.
Once Phil realizes what is happening, he uses the strange phenomena to scam his way into women's pants by learning their likes one day, and pretending he knows the women or shares their likes when the day repeats. Phil also learns a host of impressive new skills, from ice sculpting to piano playing. These tactics finally work on his colleague Rita, who he begins to fall for. But the next day, she doesn't remember a thing and he has to start from scratch.

Phil soon tires of his games - and this repeating life in general - so he tries to commit suicide. He suceeds, over and over again, in dozens of increasingly gruesome ways, always waking up the next morning alive and listening to Sonny and Cher. Bill Murray pulls these many vignettes off with his usual comic brilliance.
.
Eventually Phil decides to try being helpful to others and learns to approach Rita with true affection. When finally he learns to love, he wakes up to February 3rd.
.
The movie's theme - whether the writers realized it or not - is learning new lessons through reincarnation. Reincarnation is the process by which organized consciousness survives death and eventually passes on into a newly born infant. See my short article on Dr. Wambach & Reincarnation. Wambach did some of the most credible and detailed research using past-life regression to discover evidence of reincarnation.

As a practitioner of self-hypnosis, I found it easy to access past live memories the first time I tried it in the mid-1970s. Low and behold, I discovered I had been an American soldier killed in World War II and the wife of an American soldier in the Civil War. HMMMM. Wonder if that could have anything to do with my anti-war, pro-peace obsessions??
.
When watching Phil trying to kill himself, it occurred to me that this definitely is the stage at which too many males - and the dominant patriarchal culture they have created worldwide - have remained stuck for a couple thousand years. They are more skilled in the arts of conning and killing than the arts of loving. And now they have the nukes to kill all the many people they hate! (Today that means especially Arabs and Muslims, in a great surge of Judeo-Christian hatred and bigotry.)
.
If more people realized that “you only live once” is one more bogus concept, if they realized you do in fact live over and over again, they might be more careful of the world they are creating. Because they will be born into it again. So if you are rich, white and male and think, like Phil Conners, you are getting away with something, just wait to see what the odds are you’ll come back in the next life poor, female and a person of color. I’d say 49 out of 50.

Somebody tell that to Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld, who have been accused of running their OWN version of Groundhog Day with the wars they promoted when they held various reins of power during FOUR Republican administrations (Nixon, Reagan, Bush I and Bush II.) WHEN WILL THIS NIGHTMARE END? And how?

How Cindy Got Famous - Like More of Us Need to!

Rep. Raum Emanuel and Sen. Chuck Schumer ran the House and Senate congressional campaigns and recruited hawkish Democrats -- especially people supportive of war on Iran. Some of their candidates lost because of their relatively pro-war positions.

On January 3, 2006 the two held a press conference at the Capitol building claiming the election was a victory for their strategy -- and not one for the U.S. out of Iraq movement. Cindy Sheehan and dozens of her friends showed up and heckled them. The two officials ran off, leaving an empty mike - which Cindy quickly usurped to give an anti-war speech. Cindy's son Casey, an American soldier killed in 2004 during the U.S. illegal occupation of Iraq, must be really proud of his feisty mother.

Cindy Sheehan is a hardworking activist who is constantly on the phone giving interviews to reporters and radio stations all over the country. She's motivated by the need to vindicate her son's death -- and maybe by just a touch of the hell raiser in her own personality. Unlike many progressive, peaceniks and libertarians -- including myself -- she's not afraid to make friends with the media and tell her compelling story. And they've made her famous for it.

Well there are lots of us who have compelling stories of our own about lives diminished and destroyed by some combination of cultural dominance (patriarchy, sexism, racism, etc.) and statist restrictions on the freedom to actualize our potential to love and to learn, to grow in consciousness and to create and join communities of our choice.
.
We're not allowed to fully actualize our need to love or explore consciousness. To marry who we may want to - be it our same-sex boyfriend, or two members of the opposite sex or even, for the 20% of "bisexuals" among us, one girlfriend and one boyfriend!
.
We certainly are not allowed to explore various modes of consciousness using a variety of perfectly safe psycho-active drugs. Nor are we allowed to develop such drugs. New religions attempting to do so are quickly squashed. The rest are merely ignored or mocked by a centralized media eager to main orthodoxies.
.
Our spirits are crushed by special interest-manipulated economies. Most of us struggle to pay basic bills and are increasingly in debt, stuck in an economic system controlled for and by special interests that get wealthier every day. Most people work one day to pay for their automobiles; one day to pay for past, current and future wars; and one day to pay for social security they may never see, plus the rest of their federal, state, and local taxes! That is a condition called SLAVERY. Of course, lots of activists prefer to remain relatively anonymous. After all, if fame does NOT pay a salary through an activist job, book contracts or speaking engagements, it usually makes it difficult to find employment. I wonder how many of those temporary agencies that never called me back googled me. Me and all my radical activism comes right up on top!

Mearsheimer, Walt and Carter, Oh Boy!!

2006 was a bad year for the Israel Lobby. Instead of lions and tigers and bears, they've been scared silly by Professors Walt and Mearsheimer's "Harvard paper" - soon to be published in book form - "The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy." They've been mocked by the very title of Jimmy Carter's new book "Palestine: Peace or Apartheid," not to mention its highly critical contents.

And let's not forget this recent revelation from former U.S. senator James Abourezk who wrote in a December 11, 2006 letter distributed by the Council for the National Interest, of which he is vice chair: I can tell you from personal experience that the support Israel has in the Congress is based completely on political fear -- fear of defeat by anyone who does not do what Israel wants done. I can also tell you that very few members of Congress -- at least when I served there -- have any affection for Israel or for its Lobby. What they have is contempt, but it is silenced by fear of being found out exactly how they feel. I've heard too many cloakroom conversations in which members of the Senate will voice their bitter feelings about how they're pushed around by the Lobby to think otherwise. In private one hears the dislike of Israel and the tactics of the Lobby, but not one of them is willing to risk the Lobby's animosity by making their feelings public.

Anyone who signs up for an "Israel Lobby" Google Alert will be overwhelmed with critical news stories and carping bloggers - some of them carping about all the "anti-Semites" carping about the Israel Lobby's undue influence.

Meanwhile, I'm still videoing and youtubing street protests in D.C., despite recent upload and conversion problems. (Send me thousands of dollars so I can hire a tech!) On December 2nd 100 of us rallied against the brutal Israeli Siege of Gaza. See video.

And on December 8th 50 of us protested Israeli minister and ethnic cleanser Avigdor Lieberman. See the video. He was appearing with both Bill and Hillary Clinton at a private conference sponsored by the Saban Institute, which was created as part of the Brookings Institute a few years back, endowed by wealthy Israeli-American Haim Saban. Saban is quoted as saying: "I'm a one-issue guy and my issue is Israel". He recently bought the largest Latino media conglomerate Univision. Guess he doesn't want any uppity Latino news people criticizing his favorite nation state, brave little Israel.

Speaking of Israel, there was NOT too much talk at the recent DC 9-11 protest about Mossad agents' advance knowledge of the September 11th attacks, of hundreds of Israeli agents being kicked out of the country after 9-11, or even Mossad complicity with Israeli leader Bibi Netanyahu's good friend Larry Silverstein, owner of the lease on the Twin Towers and of Building Number 7th, all of which collapsed that day. See Justin Raimondo's writings on the first. See the Fox News story and video on the second. And search the Internet for information on the third - always being careful of your sources since there are real anti-Semites out there, not just rabid critics of Israeli state crimes. This story is a good overview.

Webster Tarpley, who just spoke at the December 16th "Boston Tea Party" shredding party in front of the White House, has written that there doubtless is some complicity, but does not focus on it because he want to allow the American culprits off the hook. Check out the video. Others like Daniel Abrahamson of FalseFlagNews.Com are more assertive in taking on the issue. Other 9-11 "conspiracy theorists" admit being afraid the movement will be "discredited" if it is seen as "anti-semitic." (Of course, many of the same people will freely speculate that no planes hit the World Trade Towers and it was all televised video manipulations!)

The 9-11 movement is the first I've heard to use the phrase "left wing gatekeepers" for those like Counterpunch.Org who debunk many of their theories. But when it comes to Israeli involvement, many of them are keeping their own gates firmly closed. Nevertheless, they are doing a good job reminding people how the U.S. and other governments will stage provocations to war and blame them on their adversaries. Something we probably will see in the next few months against Iran. Don't buy it!! We must fight the Israel Lobby -- and all the other nefarious special interests -- even harder in 2007 than we did in 2006. Our very survival may depend on it.

Guessing at "Jericho's" Conspiracy Theory

I have been watching CBS television's new mystery adventure series JERICHO about mysterious nuclear explosions that take out a number of American cities -- but obviously is an attack well short of full blown nuclear war. The residents of the small Kansas town are left without electricity, food, outside communications and soon fall prey to local criminals, as well as murderous looting private military contractors (shades of Iraq?). However, there is at least one new resident whose secretive actions seen by the audience suggest he had advance notice. And then there are those food aid pallets dropped from Chinese transport planes and including leaflets from our Chinese friends. However, we are left to wonder why some of the rigging of the pallets plainly is U.S. military issue.

During a DC911Truth event I listened to the brilliant young Daniel Abrahamson of FalseFlagNews.Com scare the heck out of the audience with a listing of government-sponsored terrorism, impending economic collapse and various war scenarios.
.
I began to wonder if Jericho was going to unravel the following scenario: American elites, totally in hock to China, decide to "sell America" to the Chinese for their own benefit. They do so by working with military elites with their own selfish agenda who explode a dozen or so bombs. On Washington, D.C., of course, to eliminate the political elite, and on enough large cities to thoroughly demoralize Americans. Invited by the cooperating elites and surviving politicians, China then comes in as our "best friend" and takes over politically through puppet governments. And you can bet they make sure every single one of the 200,000 million surviving Americans in credit card debt to banks owing China trillions of dollars pay off their debts with interest -- working at jobs paying 98 cents per hour.

I don't know how Jericho will turn out, but it does make me think about my July post about that huge Chinese Embassy in Washington - almost as big as the American Embassy in Iraq?? Obviously, it is in the interest of the American and Chinese people to throw off BOTH our governments, the American one that is encouraging us to go into hock to the Chinese government, and the Chinese one that is stealing money from underpaid Chinese workers to do it!

Cindy Sheehan Meets "V"

On November 6, 2006, a lone man in a "V" mask and clothing visited security checkpoints at the White House, the main Treasury Building, the Department of Justice and the Capitol, to deliver a letter and the Petitions for Redress. The video of that enounter is at the bottom of the GiveMeLiberty.Org page. The page includes photos of that encounter and the November 14th protest when several dozen people dressed as "V" showed up at the White House. What fun!

I came to a November 6 Cindy Sheehan protest which started shortly after "V" left, but you can see Cindy in the video, in gray coat and navy and white scarf at 1 minute 50 seconds and later at 14 minute 36 seconds -- complaining that the White House doesn't take her petitions, like they took "V's."
.
Obviously it was a fun protest and the link has made its way on to left, right, libertarian and other lists. The stylization of the movie was impressive and memorable. However the idea of the lone hero blowing up a bunch of government buildings while thousands wear his costume and march on police is a little too macho and authoritarian for me. I still prefer good old fashioned this is me and my face nonviolent action. Photos from the GiveMeLiberty page.

Imam Arrested at White House Protesting Israel's Olmert

November 13 Muslim cleric Imam Mahdi Bray of Muslim American Society Freedom Foundation did civil disobedience at the White House to protest Israel's oppression and killing of Palestinians in Gaza during Israeli Premier Olmert's visit with George Bush. Terrorist Photogaphers Stalking Metro??

That title is even more sensationalist than the title of Jim Bovard's recent blog entry on the same topic My Latest Terrorist Tendencies.

I was subwaying into Washington last night when I learned of a grave new terrorist peril. The train’s driver kept repeating, “For safety and security reasons, please do not take pictures or video recordings of Metro trains and buses.” He recited this core message with often mystifying enunciation after each subway station. To jazz up the rendition, he occasionally added ominously at the end of the announcement: “POLICE WILL BE NOTIFIED.”. . .
.
I took some photos of a subway train entering the Tenleytown station a few weeks ago. To my untrained eye, the photos all looked like crap, thanks to my camera savvy and the dim lighting in the station. But to experts at Homeland Security, the blurs might contain a secret message for Al Qaeda.

There were several, on Election Day - and the day before and the day after - to protest the warmongering Republican Congress -- and tell the victorious Democrats we expected them to get out of Iraq, to NOT attack Iran, and to Impeach Bush! Secessionists' Burlington Declaration

The first North American Secessionist Convention met in Vermont November 3-5, 2006. Sponsored by the Middlebury Institute, it drew 43 people from 16 secessionist organizations in 18 states.

Paul Nussbaum of the Philadelphia Inquirer wrote an very interesting article - Latter-day secessionists of all stripes convene in Vermont - which stated in part:

The First North American Secessionist Convention, billed as the first national gathering of secessionists since the Civil War, included an eclectic mix of conservatives, liberals, libertarians, left-wing Green Party zealots, and right-wing Christian activists.
.
They joined folks from such disparate groups as the League of the South, the Confederate Legion, the Free State Project, Christian Exodus, Free Hawaii, the Alliance for Democracy, the Abbeville Institute, and the Center for Democracy and the Constitution.
.
All agreed on one thing: their disdain for "the empire" of modern America. The latter-day separatists inveighed against government intrusion, the influence of corporations, and the loss of individual freedoms. They castigated the Patriot Act, the war in Iraq, and corruption in Congress.
.
"Reform is useless. Rebellion and revolution are useless," said Kirkpatrick Sale, a New York author who organized the session. "What is left? Secession."... The obvious challenge for the group was finding a way to make its effort more than just an intellectual exercise.

The convention issued the Burlington Declaration outlining "the following principles as representing the truths of natural law and historical experience." The first two read:

1. Any political entity has the right to separate itself from a larger body of which it is a part and peaceably to establish its independence as a free and legitimate state in the eyes of the world.

2. Governments are instituted among peoples, deriving their just powers from the consent of their citizens, and whenever any form of government becomes destructive of the legitimate goals of life, liberty, prosperity, and self-determination, it is the right of the people in democratic fashion to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government in such form as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.

Women - Expose Male Bad Behavior or Die?

This article zapped home to me today a concept a few of us bantered about on Code Pink's women's day September 20 at Camp Democracy - how the peace movement and especially the women's movement has to be more and more focused on exposing male bad behavior, political and even personal.

Much as many men will throw up the examples of women like Margaret Thatcher or Hillary Clinton to "prove" that ALL women can be as bad as SOME men... it's still true that males have created and defend our most evil institutions of death and destruction and mostly control and staff them.
.
Similarly, men have a higher rate of committing the most obnoxious personal acts, from using or threatening violence to settle interpersonal disputes, to abusing women and children, to cheating on women with other women - or men, to drinking/drugging/gambling/etc., mostly to anesthesize the pain of having to excuse all this bad behavior in themselves and other males.
.
Women certainly engage in our share of bad behaviors - the most important of which, to me, being EXCUSING and COVERING UP male bad behavior, politically and personally.
.
Obviously the woman soldier below committed suicide rather than fight to expose the horrible torture techniques she witnessed. Her death is a symbol of the deaths all women die in wars because so many of us will not expose and fight bad male behavior, personal and political.

...Now we learn that one of the first female soldiers killed in Iraq died by her own hand after objecting to interrogation techniques used on prisoners.

She was Army specialist Alyssa Peterson, 27, a Flagstaff, Az., native serving with C Company, 311th Military Intelligence BN, 101st Airborne. Peterson was an Arabic-speaking interrogator assigned to the prison at our air base in troubled Tal-Afar in northwestern Iraq. According to official records, she died on Sept. 15, 2003, from a “non-hostile weapons discharge.” ...

...When the documents of the official investigation of her death arrived, they contained bombshell revelations. Here’s what the Flagstaff public radio station, KNAU, where Elston now works, reported yesterday: Peterson objected to the interrogation techniques used on prisoners. She refused to participate after only two nights working in the unit known as the cage. Army spokespersons for her unit have refused to describe the interrogation techniques Alyssa objected to. Impeach or Secede??

With eight whole days left before the 2006 elections, I feel my depression of the last month or so lifting. A lot of us have been depressed. Perhaps because we feel so little in control of our fates, waiting on some small percentage of the population to cast the votes that will have some minimal effect on our lives.

If the Republicans somehow keep one house -- or through massive voter fraud both houses! -- we will have massive disgruntlement and some grassroots organizing versus any alleged fraud. But Bush will start his war on Iran and silence dissent, including of elected Democrats. If the Democrats take the House, the grass roots will rise, organize and demand impeachment. The Democrats may or may not go along. Either way, Bush will start his war on Iran and silence dissent, including of elected Democrats.
.
Nevertheless perhaps we should try to be optimistic that Bush and company won't have the chutzpah or ability to steal the elections -- or go to war on Iran -- either before or after the grassroots rise and demand impeachment. Of course, it is doubtful that the Democrats, fearful of starting a tradition of impeachment, will do so. They'd rather have a powerless corrupt president than have to impeach one bad apple, get another, Cheney -- and then have to impeach him. And end up with whatever horror Cheney might choose to replace him -- John Negroponte? Richard Perle? Or maybe John McCain, knowing that might assure the Republicans win in 2008. (But let's not give them any ideas!)

Under our very imperfect constitution, impeachment is one of the few punishments citizens can impose on their leaders. Politicians' refusing to do so is just one more in the long chain of abuses that presses us on to a new declaration of independence from our current form of government. So the slogan IMPEACH OR SECEDE is one of many that we may find ourselves being able to promote -- or consider adopting -- in the coming year or so.

Secession Convention in Vermont Nov 4-5

The Middlebury Institute (Vermont) for the study of separatism, secession, and self-determination came out of a November 2004 "radical consultation" of individuals in Middlebury, Vermont. The group put out the impressive Middlebury Declaration.

One of the group's leading members, Kirkpatrick Sale, author of the book HUMAN SCALE, is Director of the Institute and is organizing a second meeting of a few dozen secession-oriented individuals the first weekend in November, 2006. (Needless to say, these aren't election-geared activists!)
.
According to the Institute's page, in the last six months a dozen organized groups, another dozen potential groups, and a number of individual scholars, researchers, and journalists have shown interest in attending the conference. I haven't decided if I can make it to the convention.
.
However, the popularity of my RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO ALTER OR ABOLISH GOVERNMENT t-shirt I sell at CafePress.Com the last couple months convinces me millions of people are ripe for an alternative to our obviously failed constitutional system.

Of course, my main fear is that any secessionist movement will rapidly degenerate to just another movement of men with guns fighting other men with guns. So a nonviolent movement friendly to women's needs and views is very important to me. See my article Woman vs. the Nation State.

Fear, Loathing and October Surprises

For two years I have been working against a U.S. or Israel attack on Iran. See my page StopTheWarNow.Net. Like a lot of people, I've been particularly alert to all the warnings of an "October Surprise" -- including those by Ray McGovern and Howard Zinn at the end of my Camp Democracy video.

After years of fighting, I've been having bouts of depression over the possibility of this evil war - not to mention how much time and treasure I've wated fighting it. Congress passing and Bush signing the Military Commission Act of 2006 compounded my disgust. But we protesters just keep on protesting. At a DC Antiwar Network pot luck dinner this week we discussed doing a nuclear war die-in and blocking K Street traffic so people will start paying attention to the possibility of nuclear war. At least I had some fun putting together a video of my friend Jose Rodriguez' Nuclear Death protest, photos of which are picked up by some wire service at almost every protest. Here are the two of us on the most recent 9-11 during a 9-11 protest.

At this point, I doubt that Bush will be dumb enough to order an attack on Iran - or a pretext for an attack - before the election. That is because he knows that even if he loses the House and Senate, once he decides to attack Iran he'll easily rope Congress into supporting him -- especially if his boys undertake a successful "False Flag" operation.

As so many have been saying, soon enough "Remember the Maine" and "Remember the Lusitania" and "Remember the Gulf of Tonkin" may become "Remember the Eisenhower" if Bush and friends try to sink the aircraft carrier recently sent to the Gulf as a pretext to war. But then Israel tried like hell to sink the U.S.S. Liberty to bring the U.S. into war against Egypt in 1967 and that didn't work. Instead of dead heroes, Israel ended up with angry sailors who are still trying to get the truth out that the attack was deliberate -- and even possibily supported by the U.S. government.

If the Democrats do take the House and Senate, expect me to be reporting on lots of IMPEACH BUSH - NO MORE EXCUSES rallies in D.C. Then instead of having to prove he isn't coming up with an "October Surprise," he'll have to prove he isn't coming up with a "Wag the Dog" war. Will the deja vu all over again of our imperial leaders never end??

September 7th I had fun protesting the Iran war in the midst of a bunch of Iranians protesting former Iranian president Khatami's speech at the national cathedral. I made a video.

The September 26 National Campaign for Nonviolent Resistance did a great protest and civil disobedience at Congress with over 50 arrests, including inside a Senate office building. On the 27th Declaration of Peace did another with another 20 odd arrests. See photos and video of both events. (You'll see a photo of me at the World Can't Wait protest on the photos page too.)

Raimondo: "The 9/11 Enigma, Revisited"

Anyway, I agree with Justin Raimondo's emphasis on Israeli foreknowledge which it did NOT share with US government -- or at least not with the individuals who would have stopped it if they'd known. Would not be surprised if they shared it with Cheney, Wolfowitz, Perle, etc. Bush, doubtless, would have been out of the loop.

Raimondo does not mention that Larry Silverstein was great friends with Israeli hard liner Benjamin Netanyahu. Silverstein of course had recently acquired the lease -- and a huge insurance policy -- on the Twin Towers. Plus he owned Building Number 7, the 47 story building which caught fire and he claimed in a television interview was "pulled" after a fire that should not have collapsed it.

The fact that this building, built with the kind of traditional steel framework which had never collapsed in even worse fires, went down makes one wonder how much help the Twin Towers had in collapsing. (The Towers' It's non-traditional structure was sorely tested by the airplane impacts and subsequent fires.)

Raimondo links to the Fox News story, now on YouTube, about the copious evidence of Israeli spying and the fact hundreds of Israelis were kicked out of the US after 9-11.

Below is a photo of what I dreamed on June 30, 2001. A square tower of smoke over the horizon. As I write in my biography, I was convinced it was a premonition of nuclear war.

Around 5:30 am on June 30, 2001 I awoke abruptly from a frightening dream. It was sufficiently scary that I wrote in my diary that night: "dreamed looked out window and saw huge tower of brown smoke--realized it was a nuke bomb (no flash) and saw the shock wave coming towards me..." It wasn't until two weeks after the September 11, 2001 attacks that I realized that the strange squar-ish smoke tower I saw was a World Trade Center tower and the shock wave was the emotional and political shock that resulted from the attack.

Camp Democracy: Shall It Abolish This Government?

On July 20 I posted Camp Democracy Adopts "Right to Abolish" Government which mentioned they'd included on the left hand panel of the page that magnificent phrase from the Declaration of Independence. "That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."

Moreover, this project isn't nicknamed CAMP FED UP for nothing. There's lots of radical anti-statists coming - though Cindy "I'm an anarchist" Sheehan won't be able to make it because of recent emergency surgery. OF course, she still could surprise us. And Katrina survivors and immigrants who want the freedom to move here will be getting rowdy, along with the peaceniks fed up with the war profiteers, neocons and Israel Lobbyists constantly driving us into war and into debt. Who knows what might develop?

Progressive democrats are the lead organizers and there will be actual "progressive" elected Democratic congresscritters about on a couple of days -- you know, the kind who want to pull out of Iraq so it will be safer to bomb the hell out of Iran once Israel attacks it. But between the above named groups -- and if all you radical decentralists show -- maybe we'll finally get that Secession Network going. Or at least an effective IMPEACH BUSH movement starting November 8th, when the Democrats take congress -- assuming Bush doesn't keep them busy supporting war against Iran. Damn those demopublicans! Since the Libertarian Party wimped out on calling for Bush's impeachment, I can't link to them. But at least one decent libertarian has announced he's running for President in 2008: Steve Kubby, the famous and persecuted entrepreneur and medical marijuana patient. He assures me he's against these wasteful interventionist wars. And I'm sure he'd be delighted to impeach Bush.
