Obama sticks it to a kid...

It was sad to hear that 26 year old internet activist Aaron Swartz committed suicide, depressed because the feds were threatening him with 30 years in prison for downloading quasi-public information.  I'd seen him a few times on RT TV (aka Russia Today) and he seemed like a sincere guy.  But that didn't stop one of Obama's prosecutors, Carmen Ortiz from pressing "Computer Fraud and Abuse Act" charges that could have resulted in a 35 year prison term under mandatory sentencing. She claims that she offered to make a deal and he'd only serve six to eight months  - or even no time, if the judge so decided. But who can trust prosecutors and judges in this day and age of making an example of anyone who associates with or even just defends whistleblowers or Wikileaks types. According to a video embedded by the "Palestinian Pundit" Swartz was "a Fighter Against the Privatization of Knowledge."

So here we are coming up to the four year anniversary of Obama's inauguration and what has he got to show for it. Well,  he DID resist pressure to invade Iran - so far, even if he hasn't freed Palestine, per my requests below. And he put up Chuck Hagel for defense (hopefully) who did a great job lying to Senator Chuck "Israel first" Schumer about how he didn't really mean it that he put American interests before Israel's. (Update: and did Schumer get rewarded for falling for it by getting high profile speaking spots at the inauguration and the later brunch?? Time will tell...)

But Obama shot down all those post-election petitions to "let our state secede." And he probably will prosecute pot smokers in states that have made it more legal. And then there's what we never imagined...he's assumed dictatorial powers to kill anybody he deigns a terrorist.

I guess Adam was on the top of the list, even if it only was through persecution as opposed to direct execution.  Gosh, I gotta get famous being another nonviolent revolutionary so I can get on the list... Here's the overly optimistic video I made when Obama was inaugurated.

Obama's idea of sticking it to the man...

Update! 2/26/13:
After much battling by right wing Israel firsters and war mongering chicken hawks to stop Hagel, he gets confirmed by the Senate as Secretary of Defense.  (Details as of 2/28/13 here.) His official photo above. Pro-Israel Lobby loses a major battle.

Demand a Plan - to end Hollywood's hypocritical violence

I like the knock off video below because it explains the issue to anyone who is too "out of it" to get the entire context or understand the hypocrisy. (In short, Hollywood stars against guns, most of whom have starred as killers with guns in Hollywood movies!) A story about the original is here. WARNING: VIOLENT SCENES AND IMAGES

Here's the short version of the audio of the advertisement accompanied with photos of all of them holding guns!

Of course, as a libertarian I don't call for government to end Hollywood movie violence, just that movie producers have the moral fiber to Voluntarily! stop making money encouraging their mass movie-going audiences largely composed of young and frustrated males to engage in mass murder! And that all these actors have the chutzpah to JUST SAY NO to violent movie roles.

I just watched the movie LOOPERS because I like Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis as cute and funny guys. Both of whom have been forced to play violent killers, in this and other movies. Why couldn't they make a time travel movie with these two playing the same guy that did not make the "hero(s)" contract killers?? Why not butterfly collectors or earnest, non-violent tax protesters (who don't get shot up by feds)? No imagination?

Or just trying to toughen up Americans so they can keep going over to the Middle East and killing millions of Arab and Muslim kids, in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Iran, Somalia, or anywhere else their "Oberherrs" ("overlords") demand they fight, kill and die. (Yes, the U.S. military provides lots of funding and support for those want to make military violence look good in movies.)

Of course, it was pretty funny to hear that in the new even more violent version of "Red Dawn" Hollywood decided that instead of a hundred million Chinese soldiers invading the U.S. they'd have a few million starving North Korean soldiers do it. Ha. Ha. Ha. Talk about changing your plot so you don't offend the sensibilities of your financier$!

Which reminds me, did you hear that Al-Jazeera just bought Al Gore's Current TV for $500 million, with $70 million going to Gore himself. Biggest laugh of the week...

Male hissy fits...

Gosh, everywhere I go today, on my blog, in my email, on listserves, on wikis, on the phone, I run into males having their little hissy fits because females will not shut up and do their bidding... Here's some Youtube videos exploring the phenomena of male hissy fits, for whatever reasons, though some may be too young and hip for me to understand! And Rachel Maddow looks like she's the one having the hissy fit...

So that's how you keep the rug clean, keep the vacuum out and plugged in the whole time. Thanks to male hissy fitters I know that now. Every rainbow has a silver lining. Or whatever.

Merry and consciousness raising Solstice 2012

And yes that IS a Mayan Calendar in my window!

I can't put off commenting on the impending Solstice of December, 2012.  After all I've seen the movie "2012" at least five times!  Tonight I was watching a couple scary "documentaries" about the various apocalyptic theories. And there's nothing like a little fear to rock you consciousness, for better or worse. It will be interesting to see what happens.

It reminds me of the build up to Y2K, which scared me a lot more because of so many articles about how nuclear power plants might melt down or nuclear rockets somehow might be tricked into being launched. Here I am below flashing a peace sign with a bunch of peaceniks in front of the White House December 31, 1999. We were ticking off with the red ribbon in what longitude the year 2000 has just struck.  Luckily, there were no catastrophes that year.

And despite the scare we had last week with TWO asteroids in two days coming really close - the closest one totally unexpected! - I assume we'll be lucky again this time around. Of course, between supervolcanos and asteroids and the occasional massive solar flare, nature will doom humanity, assuming it doesn't doom itself first. But don't worry, life will always return here or elsewhere.

Consciousness, the mind of the universe, cannot help but evolve again and again into intelligent life forms, some surely far more intelligent than testosterone and masculinity besotted humanity.  So Merry Solstice, which should be the beginning of our happy new year! (Enjoy my last year's Merry Solstice video - and my "Here comes the Sun video".)

12/27/12 News Flash! We survived - for now anyway. I did have fun watching the movie "2012" for the 5th or 6th time anyway on the 21st. Well, we'll see if someone somewhere did or said or thought or wrote or decided to write or say or do something that really will raise human consciousness and give us a few thousand years of bliss on the planet before some inevitable cosmic calamity befalls us!

"Violence to prove manhood" rides again

I've gotten to the point that my disgust with the media for exploiting 20 year old Adam Lanza's mass murder of 20 children and 7 adults, including is mother, as well as his own suicide, is becoming almost as disgusting as the act itself.

That said, let's identify the REAL problem - PATRIARCHAL MINDSET. Unless we raise the consciousness of males worldwide so that they stop thinking that competition, aggression and violence are the primary way of proving manhood - or that manhood has to proved at all!! - we're just twirling our thumbs behind our backs.

As a female CNN guest said other day about the video game playing shooter Lanza, it's not the violence of the video games per se that gets them violent, it's the exaggerated image of manhood and maleness being obtained through violence that is the problem.

Jackson Katz wrote an excellent article Memo to Media: Manhood, Not Guns or Mental Illness, Should Be Central in Newtown Shooting In it he writes:

...We talk amongst ourselves about how so many boys and men in our society are conditioned to see violence as a solution to their problems, a resolution of their anxieties, or a means of exacting revenge against those they perceive as taking something from them. We share with each other news stories, websites and YouTube videos that demonstrate the connection between deeply ingrained cultural ideas about manhood and individual acts of violence that operationalize those ideas.

And then in the wake of repeated tragedies like Newtown, we turn on the TV and watch the same predictable conversations about guns and mental illness, with only an occasional mention that the overwhelming majority of these types of crimes are committed by men -- usually white men. Even when some brave soul dares to mention this crucial fact, it rarely prompts further discussion, as if no one wants to be called a "male-basher" for uttering the simple truth that men commit the vast majority of violence, and thus efforts to "prevent violence" -- if they're going to be more than minimally effective -- need to explore why.

Maybe the Newtown massacre will mark a turning point. Maybe the mass murder of young children will force the ideological gatekeepers in mainstream media to actually pry open the cupboards of conventional thinking for just long enough to have a thoughtful conversation about manhood in the context of our ongoing national tragedy of gun violence.

He then lists a number of issues that need to be explored.  Check it out. (Update: another good article on the same subject by Megan Murphy: But what about the men? On masculinity and mass shootings.

And yet I'm getting emails from peace groups whose response is not much better than the mainstream media: BAN GUNS! Give the government MORE control!  BAN GUNS!

Do they want SWAT teams shooting up tens of thousands of homes? Cause that's what they'll get if they get their way. Of course, another State Enforcers' trick is to make any misdemeanor or alleged felony an excuse to ban guns, pick people off one at a time on flimsy excuses, and then turn every gun owner into a criminal on some pretext or other.  That's real civil liberties for you....Not.

Banning guns just ensures most of them will be owned by some of the most violent and macho guys: police, state and federal agents, including those who as ex-military with a history of legalized killing. Who do you think all the right wing gun nuts are afraid of? Ralph Nader? Code Pink?

Police forces at all levels get the most and best weapons AND an excuse to go after anyone with the wrong gun or accused of having the wrong gun or who might have any gun or who lives in a house formerly occupied by someone who had a gun, or whose house number just happens to be typed out by mistake by some incompetent government clerk.

You thought the war on drugs was violent? Wait til the war on guns really gears us.  Waco redux.

In denial, giggling with the holiday goats...

Commentary on the violent craziness perpetrated by males against other human beings, and the planet, constantly flows from my mind and sometimes my fingers; sometimes even here! But it can be nice to be in denial, semi-ignoring the world. Especially when one can watch videos like this over and over again to fill the heart with joy instead of anger and sadness...

Some Fun! (wasting energy with Psy)

Update: So who knew Psy would turn out to be an anti-American imperialism activist with a rather violent turn of phrase? Story here in case this video of his 2004 performance gets kicked off Youtube. Who knew Koreans had more freedom of speech and Chutzpah than American rockers.

Israelis bombing to support STOLEN land - yet again....

Update: First we have the crazy right wing leadership of Israel  yapping about their real goals. Interior Minister Eli Yishai told the world: "The goal of the operation is to send Gaza back to the Middle Ages. Only then will Israel be calm for 40 years". Gilad Sharon, son of former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon (who has been punished by the universe for his murderous reign since his lapse into a coma in early 2006), called for Gaza to be flattened just like Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Then we have what Debka.com said on Nov. 23 was the real reason Netanyahu accepted a ceasefire: Obama pledged his life and sacred honor he'd send US troops to the Sinai Peninsula to accelerate the building of a fence to stop the smuggling of arms to Gaza and to hunt down smugglers in the Sinai. And of course to kill any Palestinian who dares to get to close to any fence or try to smuggle food or medicine into Gaza.  It's just a matter of time before US troops are fighting in Gaza and the West Bank and Syria - and Iran, thanks to our Israel blackmailed government. YUK!!

Update 2: Nov.  24 Egypt  announces - "NO we aren't letting foreign troops deploy (besides those already part of UN force)"... Of course, two days earlier President Morsi declared himself defacto dictator, so he can lie with impunity.  And then we have a report of US military visiting Gaza to check out US troops a few weeks before. Pure coincidence of course. And now a Nov. 28 new report about all the billions US is spending to build defenses in Israel - so it can keep all that stolen land, of course.

And President Obama promises that if he gets all the new taxes he wants he'll cut a little bit of spending someday.  And Nancy Pelosi shoots down a congressional attempt to get rid of indefinite detention for US citizens - have to keep those resisting tax payers under control... Woe is all of us...

Make Flyboard NOT War...

For all those who guys looking for something exciting and new to do besides kill.... Check it out.
If only General Petraeus had been flyboarding, no one would care what crazy warmongering bitches he was screwing. I confess I didn't know what a self-serving, warmongering bastard he was til I started listening to some of his detractors on Piers Morgan tonight. Gosh, for a second I thought I was listening to Russia Today aka RT TV. Til Piers started chiding a guest for telling it like it is.

Less stressful Fuhrer wins....

I wrote most of this the day after the election but fricken Blogspot refused to properly format it.  Too much traffic? Trying again since it's already written. Hope I don't have to move to WordPress!!

See my last blog entry for the "Don't be brainwashed by necons - Don't bomb Iran!" poster I'd have been down at Romney headquarters displaying if Romney had been elected. Yes, Obama getting elected let's me enjoy my dog-centered life and procrastinate a bit longer about making the revolution, sitting pretty with my part-time job and my social security check - til Obama crashes the economy. I figure that gives me about six to twelve months. As opposed to Romney bombing Iran March 1st.

Actually, I didn't vote. Maybe someday, somewhere else if I think it matters.... I've turned into one of those libertarians who hate government-dominated politics so much they refuse to participate, except to lambast statists of all parties, including alleged libertarians.   (A week later, I actually am going to delete my rant about what a bigoted self-involved ass the local DC libertarian candidate is, though if he pushes me I'll put up a web page complete with photos and quotes. Just a little whistleblowing...)

So let's hope Rand stays radical on noninterventionism...
(See this article.)

And that the next DC Referendum on Pot will be for total legalization. Yeah, Washington and Colorado!

Two good videos below. Don't bomb Iran and a great way to vote....

When Presidents' Parents Rule their Policy

Thinking lately about how George W. Bush was personally motivated to invade Iraq and topple Saddam Hussein because Saddam allegedly tried to assassinate his father.  And how Barack Obama emphasized passing health care "reform", largely ignoring jobs issues, doubtless because his mother had so much trouble paying for her health care as she was dying.

And now we have Mitt Romney, possibly the next president. What about his parents might most motivate him? I remember his father George Romney as a pretty cool outspoken guy and gave him the thumbs up when he said in a 1967 interview: "When I came back from Viet Nam [in November 1965], I'd just had the greatest brainwashing that anybody can get," and "I no longer believe that it was necessary for us to get involved in South Vietnam to stop Communist aggression in Southeast Asia."That statement pretty much killed his 1968 presidential campaign.

Last night I watched the CNN special on Mitt Romney's life and that was the one big issue regarding his father that came up.  CNN and some pundits believe Mitt controls himself so he doesn't make such big bloopers (unless he's talking about the 47% in front of private groups - hmmm, does the 47% include government employees and pensioneers and all the people with fat government contracts or fat government subsidies or fat government laws restricting competion with their firms?)

Does this mean he has to prove he's not a wimpy peacenik who claims to be a dupe of militarists? To the point that he becomes a dupe of militarists?

All I know is that if he gets elected I'll be out there at the first protest with this sign...

Libertarian vs. Demopublican candidates

This applies to what Gary Johnson, the Libertarian Party Presidential candidate would do in his first year, vs. what Obamney and Robama would do. Libertarian federal, state and local candidates often have even faster time tables. See bigger graphic and story at this LP.org page.

Apocalypse Sandy

August 2011 it was Hurrican Irene and 60 hours without power.  See my blog entry from that event here.

Now it's Hurricane Sandy, sex indeterminate. And probably 4+ days without power.  I can even reuse my emergency preparation photo, except this year I have a souped-up crank up radio, stronger LED lamps and a cooler to keep stuff more frozen.  Thank heavens the back door blew in during the big July 2012 storm and 3 windows broke cause now we have a new back wall/door/storm door, a new front storm door, six new windows and glazed up a bunch of old ones!

What is the meaning of it all, one week before our large eared president (geez, I only noticed when he was visiting FEMA today) faces off against the Mormon Messiah.  I'll spend a few days free of the internet and see what wondrous, holistic thoughts come to mind.... Have fun fellow Hurricane Survivors!!

Update: Uh, oh, Thanks to Russia Today, the only ones who will tell you, the funs over: Concerns on the rise as Hurricane Sandy expected to hit 26 nuclear power plants   Dang, it's the midwest or California that's supposed to suffer the first big meltdown, not Calvert Cliffs.  Quick, Hire a Van!!!

Update 2: Wow, we survived with power and only a blown down bamboo fence! This guy mocked the apocalypse and see what happened to him!

Do Biorhythms influence Debates??

Biorhythm’s are ups and downs in physical, emotional and intellectual energy which begin at the day of one’s birth and are the same for everyone on the 1st, 100th or 10,000th day of life. People with the same birth dates will find they have the identical biorhythms for any particular day. However, since most of us associate with people NOT born on our birthdays, we usually have very different biorhythms than others.
During the up half of the cycle people will be more energetic, emotional and intelligent; during the down cycle, less so.  The physical cycle, the most noticeable, lasts 23 days; the emotional, lasts 28 days; and the intellectual lasts 33 days. On “cross over days” (the red horizontal line on this adapted Wikicommons graphic) where the down cycle goes up, or the up cycle goes down, people may be erratic and confused.

Skeptics may call it "pseudo-science" but if they had been observing their biorythyms and making use of that information for 35 odd years like I have, they would be far less skeptical.

This really comes out when two people are engaged in competitive behavior, like political debates. (Sports handicappers have been known to use biorhythms to predict the outcomes of boxing matches and even team sports.)

Let’s look at Barak Obama (b. August 4, 1961) and Mitt Romney's  (b. March 12, 1947) biorhythms on the three days of their presidential debates.  Compare the analysis with what you witnessed and pundits have said.

October 3: This  was a physical “crossover” day for Obama, who did seem low energy, even though his intellectual and emotional rythmns were high. Romney's physical and emotional biorhythms were right on top, so his intellectual being on the very bottom made less of a difference.
* * *
October 16: Obama’s physical was moving towards the top, even as his emotional and intellectual were near the bottom.  Romney’s physical and emotional were on the bottom but his intellectual was on the way up.
* * *
October 22: Obama’s physical and emotional biorhythms will be near the top and his intellectual near the bottom - much like Romney's during the first debate. Romney’s physical will be in a “cross over day”, his intellectual will be moving out of the bottom, and his intellectual will be on top - again much like Obama's during the first debate.  Will their performances be similar to each others in that first debate? Time will tell.

What might we predict for the all important foreign policy debate over whether we’ll let another country drag us into a ten trillion dollar war??  Obama will energetically and emotionally defend his record and maybe repeat that phrase “I’ll do what’s best for America” (i.e., as opposed to what’s best for Bibi Netanyahu and Israel). And Romney will have to rely on his fast thinking - if not much emotional and physical energy - to explain why he’s not just a pawn of the Neocons and Netanyahu. He'll have to convince the millions wary of Mormonism that he himself is not eager to go be the Mormon Savior off to war to win Jerusalem for the Chosen People - the Mormons!!

Update:   James Carville said it all - "Somebody gave Romney the same drug they gave the President before the first debate."  Obviously, it's not ALL biorhythms. In the first debate, Obama hadn't debated in years and Romney had done so dozens of times in the last two years. In the last debate, Romney had to both speak intelligently on an area he is less than expert AND lie to the American public (and/or? stab his neocon supporters in the back) by acting like a peacenik, saying "We can't kill ourselves out of this mess."

All I know is if Romney wins there will be lots of angry liberal peaceniks out there ready to organize secession.  If Obama wins, there will be lots of angry libertarian/conservative peaceniks out there ready to do the same.   More volunteer efforts work for me to do!! But more on that next blog which has been sitting in draft a few days.

Binders full of hookers and models

That's what I first thought of when I heard Romney make his stupid comment about "binders full of women." While a couple of graphics below got the hint, today when I searched the internet for anyone else who had a written comment on this I found just one explicit entry - and from a woman.

Even Romney in his constricted Mormon world - which still DOES intersect with this carnal one - must have run across the concept of flipping through binders full of photos of women models and women unlicensed sex therapists (which is what such women are, because males are afraid they might have to pay more if sex for money was legal)!!

So that's the unconscious subtext of this. Or maybe NOT so unconscious, for many males anyway.  Now what percent of males have gone on line and looked at internet binders full of models and/or prostitutes? What percent of males have paid for it from professionals? dates? girl friends? wives?

If women only had sex with males for love or lust, many males feel they would be left out, cause who could love them or lust after them??  Well, males, you created the culture that makes you feel that way - and males and females must break out of that culture together.  First and foremost by eliminating the structural institutions that encourage male emotional coldness and violence: the military and the nation states they hold together through threats of mass murder. See my article Woman vs. the Nation State and my site Secession.net.

Now let's just PRAY that the media can focus on the most important issue of the next debate. Is the US President going to allow Israel to drag the US into a catastrophic 10 trillion dollar war vs. Iran that could escalate to nuclear war? And, of course, Obama's October surprise: one on one negotiations with Iran.

A month in review

So many events to comment on the last few weeks, but I had a cold and other distractions so only thought about blogging them... So here's just a few photos and/or videos I downloaded or watched that more or less reflected my view of a few of the events of the last few weeks...

And the formatting sucks - have to learn HTML to edit damn thing...BLEAH....

I want to see them so bad...

But we didn't need to see the above silliness...

 Confess, land grabbing b$#*)^d....

So true. Can't really get excited enough about Gary Johnson to see him in person. Not a revolutionary.  Though he did say he would NOT use military force vs. nonviolent secessionists. Still trying to motivate myself to give him $20.

UK's national health care system refuses water to people it wants to get rid of - and or through mismanagement. See this article.

Startrek, nothing but Startrek, nothing but Startrek, all of the day -- now that I've got NETFLIX!! (Working way through Farscape first, though.)

Wayne Root resigns from the Libertarian Party - thank the goddesses!! See my Boot Root page.

Cindy Sheehan won't pay for war. Yeah! See national war tax resistance group at NWTRCC.ORG

Good Week for Peaceniks vs "blustering and blundering"

I half listened to President Obama's Convention Nomination Acceptance speech since there's only one issue I really worry about: is the president going to get us into another horrific war? Considering that I believe all politicians lie, I was still excited and even cheering when he said:
So now we face a choice. My opponent and his running mate are new to foreign policy, but from all that we’ve seen and heard, they want to take us back to an era of blustering and blundering that cost America so dearly.
After all, you don’t call Russia our number one enemy – and not al Qaeda – unless you’re still stuck in a Cold War time warp. You might not be ready for diplomacy with Beijing if you can’t visit the Olympics without insulting our closest ally. My opponent said it was “tragic” to end the war in Iraq, and he won’t tell us how he’ll end the war in Afghanistan. I have, and I will. And while my opponent would spend more money on military hardware that our Joint Chiefs don’t even want, I’ll use the money we’re no longer spending on war to pay down our debt and put more people back to work – [statism alert] rebuilding roads and bridges; schools and runways. After two wars that have cost us thousands of lives and over a trillion dollars, it’s time to do some nation-building right here at home.

Keep it up, Barack, and you might win re-election because Americans are sick of war. (And that's more like two trillion and counting on those last two wars, Barack.) Though I, of course, recommend voting for the Libertarian, Governor Gary Johnson.

Only Israel's Fuhrer "Bibi" Netanyahu and the neocons want war. As well as their fanatical followers like Mitt "Mormons are a Lost Tribe of Israel" Romney. I really want to protest some Mormon temples NOW, not after he gets elected and starts a war. (Since I'll probably end up in Romney's camps quick enough.)

Here's Romney saying Israel is the Promised Land - which even the Mormon's don't believe... Oh, and that he wants a first strike vs. Iran. Yup!

Of course, the Democratic hoi poloi at their convention must have made Fuhrer Netanyahu and friends nervous when they refused to give a 2/3 voice vote to put into the Democratic Party platform support for Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel. It took the Los Angeles mayor who was chairing the proceedings three voice votes of approximately 1/2 for and 1/2 against the resolution before he gave up - and declared that the 50-50 vote actually was a 2/3 vote FOR the resolution. Listen to the boos from angry delegates presented in full on Al Jazeera. Justin Raimondo had some fun with it too at Antiwar.com.

Neocon Elliot Abrams made a big deal of it. But to add insult to Israeli injury, it turned out the Republicans forgot to put in their platform their 2008 promise they would move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Ha ha ha.

Yeah, it's been a bad week for Fuhrer Netanyahu. He angrily broke up a cabinet meeting accusing members of leaking information to the press about disputes over war against Iran. Then it came out he really did have a shouting match with the U.S. Ambassador to Israel because the United States isn't doing enough to destroy Iran. As John Glaser wrote:

The outburst from Netanyahu was a clear sign of his aggressive style and ideological zeal for war. President Obama has militarily surrounded Iran, committed covert cyber-war on Iran, supported the Israelis as they assassinated civilian Iranian scientists, and heaped unprecedented harsh sanctions on Iran which are crippling their economy…all to stop a nuclear weapons program that both the US and Israel admit Iran doesn’t even have. Yet Netanyahu wanted more, and wasn’t getting it. So he threw a tantrum during a diplomatic meeting.
That's Romney's bosom buddy...

Gary Johnson running on the Libertarian Party ticket obviously is better than both of them, since he'd cut the military 43% the first year and start closing down bases worldwide. And he says he'd stand up to the Netanyahus of the world. But the manipulating media doesn't want you to know that. Nevertheless, they may have to report on some of it. All because of Ron Paul's energetic efforts of the last few years, and the fact Johnson may get the most votes of any libertarian candidate so far and influence the outcome of the election. Gary Johnson is getting the most media of any libertarian presidential candidate so far. So all those antiwar Republicans - and pro-peace and pot Democrats - will have someone to vote for after all.
And equally good news!! The Libertarian Party finally managed to BOOT ROOT from the Libertarian National Committee! That's Egomaniacal Born Again Christian Jewish Gambler Wayne Allyn Root. He wrote SO enthusiastically about Romney beating Obama and Romney supporting Israel that even past Libertarian supporters got fed up with him. We were starting to organize a campaign to boot him out, including a protest at the November "LNC" meeting in Washington, DC. He took the hint and ran. See my BOOT ROOT webpage here. And his blessed resignation letter here. See Adam Kokesh's fun video report here about "Rooting out W.A.R." (Root's self-ballyhooed initials.)
Yup, it's been a good week for peaceniks!!

Gary Johnson Gets Into It at Paul Fest

Gary Johnson obviously was energized by all those young and fervent Ron Paul supporters in Tampa at Ron Paul Fest and did a really good job describing a pretty radical position. (He has Ron Paul to compete with after all!) I listened a couple times and probably missed whatever too-statist-y thing he had to say, but over all sounded REALLY good and a message that the majority of Americans would vote for - if they bothered to vote. And that even a slim majority of those who actually vote would support. Even fat government bureaucrats have to worry about losing their jobs and NOT finding one in the private sector now a days. But of course the elitist media barely gives Gary Johnson the time of day. Most stories emphasize wondering if he'll attract Ron Paul supporters or cost Romney any states in the election. All that nonsense to get a paragraph in here and there explaining cogently why big government and its big wars are the problem, not the solution!

Everybody Needs Their Own Fire Service

Those wuzzie Republicans Romney-Ryan really are on the same page as Obama when it comes to "you didn't build that." They won't recognize Americans' the freedom to privatize and/or cooperatize just about everything - not to mention to secede. Just like Obama, they agree the government should be fighting fires. They believe that people must be coerced into letting government do so many services, because people are just too incompetent to organize their own solutions to problems, be it private companies that work together against large fires, volunteer community efforts that do the same, etc. Why don't they just take over the hair dressing and food production industries - how do we ever manage to cut our hair or obtain food??

And probably even more than Obama, Romney-Ryan can't wait til they have the power to START FIRES by burning down the lovely city of Tehren, and the rest of Iran, and killing millions of innocent women and children. So it costs 10 trillion dollars, they can always get rid of those pesky welfare programs. (At least til they remember most people only put up with the warfare state because of the delusion it's really a welfare state.) They all make me SICK!!!

Here is the full context, from Obama's speech in Roanoke, Va.:

"There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me -- because they want to give something back. They know they didn’t -- look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something -- there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.

"If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.

"The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together. There are some things, just like fighting fires, we don’t do on our own. I mean, imagine if everybody had their own fire service. That would be a hard way to organize fighting fires.

"So we say to ourselves, ever since the founding of this country, you know what, there are some things we do better together. That’s how we funded the G.I. Bill. That’s how we created the middle class. That’s how we built the Golden Gate Bridge or the Hoover Dam. That’s how we invented the Internet. That’s how we sent a man to the moon. We rise or fall together as one nation and as one people, and that’s the reason I’m running for President -- because I still believe in that idea. You’re not on your own, we’re in this together."

Protect/Free! Assange -Manning Music Video

Bradley Manning did a great service to the world sharing information about U.S. crimes with Wikileaks and Julian Assange. As a feminist, I have a feeling Assange did act like a cad. And, assuming the women didn't catch some horrific disease, they certainly deserve at the least an apology - at most a financial settlement. But there is no doubt that the Swedish decision to prosecute, the Swedish refusal to question him in England, the Australian govt's lack of action, and the not very secret US indictment are politically motivated, not from any concern about abuse of women. He has been "punished" more than enough!! Below an excellent music video on the topic.

Happy Hiroshima Day...

It is nearly Hiroshima Day in Japan. Sixty-seven years since the United State unnecessarily dropped the (relatively small) 16 kiloton nuclear bomb on the city of Hiroshima and and a 21 kiloton bomb on the city of Nagasaki, killing 100,000 (give or take 40,000) people.

To remind people of what we are celebrating - or mourning for those who still have a human soul - below is a video of five American militarists (and a cameraman) standing directly below a 2-kiloton atomic bomb exploding 10,000 feet directly above their heads. What jolly times. We're number one!

The Fox News story about this points out: Today, 55 years later, the seemingly safe operation may have had some serious side effects: all six members of the group have had cancer, with four dying of it... Ooops!!

Last night I got overly concerned about the same Reuters article posted all over the internetz: "Super volcano", global danger, lurks near Pompeii. Yup, the race is DOOMED...

Either cause it destroys itself with nukes or it takes too few precautions to prevent destruction (nukes and meteors) or it doesn't ensure a few million survive catastrophe (meteors and supervolcanos). Not to mention all those hundreds of nuclear power plants that melt down and spew massive amounts of radiation in all of the above scenarios. But at least the testosterone poisoned boys get to play with their military toys, so it's all good, right??
