Got the blogging blahs, but just to be fair to Joel Leyden in posting below, I should note that President Barak Obama who actually has thousands of nukes at his personal disposal, recently issued a declaration in its Nuclear Posture Review (NPR) that it is reserving the right to use nuclear weapons against Iran. Gareth Porter writes on Antiwar.com that represents a new element in a strategy of persuading Tehran that an Israeli attack on Iranian nuclear sites is a serious possibility if Iran does not bow to the demand that it cease uranium enrichment. Although administration officials have carefully refrained from drawing any direct connection between the new nuclear option and the Israeli threat, the NPR broadens the range of contingencies in which nuclear weapons might play a role so as to include an Iranian military response to an Israeli attack. Meanwhile the Washington Times reports that at the review conference for the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Secretary of State Hillary Clinton "will try this week at the United Nations to keep the worst-kept secret in the Middle East: Israel's status as a nuclear power."
And of course we have Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad the
Yup, it's the same old same old in the world of STATISM - leaders threatening death against millions of civilians in order to maintain the power and position of their race, religion, class or nation state. OI!!So excuse me if my focus in life for a while is tending the garden and playing with our new dog. And recording a couple dozen of my best spiritual and political songs and putting them on youtube in order to help raise the level of human consciousness - or at least help connect the more conscious of us who remain disgusted at these displays.
