My Video Debate Question to the Candidates - NUKE WAR!?!?!?

Friday night I made a draft video of my question for the CNN Youtube Debates, starting July 17th. Then I went on to enjoy my weekend -- or was it get bogged down in house work, dog care, and reading a couple books on secession? Anyway, just in the nick of time at 10:30 pm tonight, an hour and a half before the deadline, I remembered to finish off my video! I had to make due with that first take. So that's the dog ate my homework excuse for a less than perfect but still totally on target effort...
.
It's only 20 seconds! Watch it! (Just in case CNN doesn't choose it to shove in the presidential candidates face and make them squirm like the lying murderous tyrants they mostly are, except Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel.)

Final "Waco" Davidian Prisoner is Free!

After fourteen years imprisonment, the final Branch Davidian survivor and prisoner Livingstone Fagan is free and returned to his family in England. (Fagan in bottom photo.) Fagan served a year longer than the other six prisoners pictured because he non-cooperated with the system by refusing to work, for which he was punished with a longer term.
.
Fagan's freedom brings to a close a major - and totally unintended - chapter of my life.

.
It opened on February 28, 1993 when Bureau of Alcohol and Tobacco agents attacked a building filled with mostly women, children and the elderly, shooting blindly from the ground and from helicopters, killing 6 people. Four federal agents died. After fifty-one days of harassing the survivors to keep them in a building filled with evidence of BATF crimes, Federal Bureau of Investigation agents in army tanks attacked killing another 76 people. The government went on to prosecute and convict nine Davidians.
.
Local Washington, D.C. libertarians started The Committee for Waco Justice which went on to do protests on the anniversaries, as well as protests to defend the prisoners, some of whom were abused in custody. And I wrote a book The Davidian Massacre which received wide publicity. I also helped the Davidians obtain the gun rights attorney who helped cut their sentences by 25 years!
.
For an overview of the government's crimes against the Davidians, the Davidian trial and its prosecutorial misconduct, news through the year 2000, and to buy my book see my site CarolMoore.Net/Waco.
.

Livingstone Fagan's last letter to me from the immigration holding facility where he awaited deportation is a stunning indictment of the American system. A few quotations, as written, below:
Something I have noticed from my experiences as a foreigner in the U.S. I'm writing not as a tourist, rather from a more direct encounter with the harsh realities of America. Where the constitution allows for slavery by tieing it to crime and punishment. Since America has historically depended on slavery (making it inherently a part of its culture) invariably the impetus of slavery has come to prevail in law making/enforcement as a whole. America thus has come to enslave itself through its laws.
.
Recent events and the related "War on Terrorism" has served to solidify this under another name. This has largely to do with preventing the dissolution of the Union which would curb the immense power and control conferred upon those who rule through it. The perpetrators of this mischief did it in an attempt to conceal their identity and purpose. Using the cover of law to serve their own greed and self-interest at the expense of citizens of America and indeed the world beyond.
.
They perfected the art of lying, manipulation, theft and the use of violence in the course of their iniquity. This has served to rout out from the Soul of America whatever pretention to "righteousness" it may have claimed. You cannot measure moral righteousness in monetary terms, which is what America has sought to do. In any case and despite appearances to the contrary, America is BROKE!
Thank you, Livingstone! If you read my book you'll see that one reason the government went after the Davidians is because it feared the religious group was living like secessionists, in their "own little country." However, here it just sounds like Livingstone is merely predicting the future.
.
"WACO" should teach us how wickedly the government can deal with perceived secessionists who own guns. Just one of many reasons I continue to preach non-violent action and secession.
.
Anyway, as Livingstone points out, the U.S. government is doing a great job of morally and financially bankrupting itself. So nonviolent secessionists offering morality, respect and paychecks to those who might be ordered to hold the corrupt union together certainly would be smarter than scaring and threatening those enforcers of law who themselves may be pretty danged fed up.
.
Of course, if the union breaks itself up through nuclear war, those survivors out in the boonies will need their guns to protect against maurauding critters, human and animal. Hopefully, we will not be reduced to that level of bare survival consciousness. For a good scare, look at some of the videos on this site.

Grigg on GOP Praying for Terrorist Strike on US

Antiwar.Com links to William Norman Grigg’s article Praying for a Terrorist Strike: The GOP's Newest Political Strategy featured on LewRockell.Com. The photo from the page. An even better one is on it.
.
After horrific relevant quotes from Republican Senator Rick Santorum and Arkansas Republican chairman Dennis Milligan, Grigg writes:
.
People like Santorum and Milligan (and Dana Rohrabacher, the stupidest consequential public figure not named Bush or Hannity) ache for disaster. They pant after it with vulgar, undisguised lust. They are tremulous with unconsummated desire for validation in the form of dead Americans and ruined cities.
Revolting and vile as this is, it is not unique. In fact, these repellent people are firmly and squarely in the interventionist tradition of American politics, in which cheerfully anticipating the death of Americans has a long and venerable history.
.
And then we have "Homeland Security" Director Michael Chertoff's big news this week: he has a "gut feeling" the U.S. soon will be hit with a terrorist attack. Either that or he's been having private chats with his friends in the Mossad who always seem to know what's coming before U.S. intelligence does. But they give Americans just enough information to justify the $4 - 5 -6 billion a year the U.S. taxpayer is forced to send to the state of Israel.
.
Keith Olberman had some fun things to say about Chertoff's comments on the Tuesday July 10 edition of his Countdown show:

KEITH OLBERMANN: Lastly, Richard, just as the President is trying to defend his strategy in Iraq and invoking people's grandchildren and children and their security, the Homeland Security Secretary Chertoff reveals this "gut feeling" about an increased risk of terrorist activity here this summer. His "gut feeling." How about my gut feeling that Mr. Chertoff said this so that the lead story on the newscast on ABC would not be Iraq or Alberto Gonzales or that USA Today poll, but that it would be this, you know, "gut feeling" of his, plus a vague sky-is-falling story about an al-Qaeda cell, which even the people in Homeland Security say is just nonsense? And this stuff about Mr. Chertoff's guess, am I, is my gut reaction here better than his or as worthwhile as his?

RICHARD WOLFFE, Newsweek: There may be another explanation, which is that he's trying to cover his rear end because he doesn't have real intelligence about what these people are up to, but they're just a vague feeling. Look, we've gone from color coded warnings to the intestinal rumblings of Michael Chertoff. It's amazing what you get for all those billions that they spend on Homeland Security.

OLBERMANN: Yeah, the "gut feeling" has been described as "breaking news." Actually, a "gut feeling" would be closer to "breaking wind."

Well, it will be interesting to see which good friends of Israeli leader "BiBi" Netanyahu own and/or hold the leases (and big insurance policies) on any buildings that get blown up. Shades of Larry Silverstein, owner of World Trade Center Number 7 (already rebuilt) and also the seven week lease holder on the Twin Towers as of September 11, 2001. He later collected $5 billion dollars in insurance money to build brand new (asbestos free) building(s).

Meanwhile, Israel's two Liebermans have been very busy. As reported in the article Lieberman: Europe Leaving Israel to Deal with Iran Strategic Affairs Minister Avigdor Lieberman said on Tuesday morning that it looked more and more as if Europe would leave Israel to deal with the Iranian nuclear threat on its own.

And pressured by Connecticut’s Senator Joe “Bomb Iran” Lieberman the U.S. Senate voted an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2008 Defense Authorization Act stating it should be the policy of the United States to develop and deploy an effective defense against “the threat from Iran.” Not to be a conspiracy theorist or anything.
.
Addendum: On July 13th read Justin Raimondo's take on the amendment ("Is War With Iran Inevitable?") making it sound much worse than I described it.
.
The bipartisan band is striking up a war tune, as "antiwar" Senator Carl Levin co-sponsors with Joe Lieberman the Iran Amendment to the defense appropriations bill, joining with Republican Senators McCain, Kyl, and Graham in a rousing chorus of rattling sabers. The amendment accuses Iran of murdering American soldiers, and of committing other acts of war: it is, in effect, a declaration of war, and Senator Lieberman was quite clear about this on the Senate floor the other day.

Cindy Sheehan Back! Medea Benjamin Responds to Jerks who Pied Her...

As usual, the most interesting peace movement news comes from those uppity women who just won't let patriarchy get them down. Cindy Sheehan's already back from her five week vacation from the peace movement. She paid off her debts by selling off her "Camp Casey" property in Waco, Texas and is rearing to go.
.
As Cindy wrote on her blog at CampCaseyPeaceInstitute.Org in an article called "Call out the Instigators" (from Tom Petty's song "Something in the air" - i.e., revolution): I’m not backing off. I tried to remove myself from the political realm of the US, what BushCo is turning into an Evil Empire, but the blatant audacity of George commuting Scooter’s sentence (he’s not ruling out a full pardon ---and you know he will) has dragged me kicking and screaming back in. I can’t sit back and let this BushCo drag our country further down into the murky quagmire of Fascism and violence, taking the rest of the world with them!...It has been recently reported that Nancy Pelosi said that impeachment is not “worth it.” Her faulty reasoning is that impeachment would take too much time because they don’t have the votes. If they could “whip” their own Democratic caucus into shape to defend and protect our Constitution and the people of Iraq and our soldiers as they whupped, cajoled, threatened and browbeat the caucus into attaching “non-binding” time lines onto the last war funding bill, then impeachment would not only be possible, but likely. If Congress won’t dig BushCo’s political grave, it is the People’s job to do so. Thomas Jefferson said that we need a Revolution every 20 years, or so, to keep our Republic honest. Over 225 years have passed since our last Revolution (if you don't count the War Between the States) and we are long overdue for one.
.
Cindy also announces a march: "We are going to walk from Atlanta, GA to Congress beginning July 13th and ending up in DC on July 23rd to send the mis-leaders back home to face the music of justice in their own districts. It is about time us “peasants” (in the eyes of the Fascist Ruling Elite) march on DC with our “pitchforks” of righteous anger and our “torches” of truth to demand the ouster of BushCo. I have a dream of the detention centers that George has built and filled being instead filled with Orange Clad neo-cons and neo-connettes. Read the rest of her rousing rant at her site.
.
Oh, did I mention? Cindy is threatening to run against Nancy Pelosi in 2008. As I noted in a 2006 blog entry, Cindy calls herself an anarchist. But she's one willing to use the state's electoral apparatus to fight the state. As a long-time libertarian, I mostly have supported using elections to publicize the evils of the states. So I hope Cindy runs and wins. We need an anarchist in Congress!
.
Medea Benjamin, co-founder of Global Exchange and the womens' peace group Code Pink, is another woman a little too uppity for the taste of some males. While I don't necessarily agree with her statist solutions and may have some nits to pick with some aspects of her organizational style, I admire her dedication to busting the Democrats and the Republicans chops in congress. Not to mention her ability to raise funds and mobilize people to do it. And I am delighted that she continues to speak out against Black Bloc street violence (as I do in my e-book The Return of Street Fighting Man).
.
It largely was for the latter speaking out that a member of some little quasi-anarchist clique calling itself "Bakers without Borders" pied her during the U.S. Social Forum. See photos and video here. Medea's reply here. The group had several gripes, but doubtless the main one, listed first, was her vocal criticism of Black Bloc street violence during the 1999 Seattle "riot." Her response shows that the others are plainly ludicrous. Medea writes:
.
But the pie-flingers were not interested in fruitful dialogue, but tasteless condemnations. Their leaflet went on to say: 1. I sided with police and municipal authorities against direct actions performed at the World Trade Organization protests of 1999 (Truth: I disagreed with the tactic of smashing windows and helped gather an activist clean-up crew to show our goodwill to the people of Seattle. And after eight years, this grudge is mighty stale!) 2. My organization Global Exchange hordes funds raised for community organizations in Guatemala (Huh? I have no idea what this one means. We promote fair trade and have helped channel millions of dollars to producers all over the world, including Guatemala. See http://www.globalexchange.org) 3. Global Exchange solicited the economic dependency of residents in Cuba and then abandoned the project, pushing the Cuban participants deeper into poverty. (Truth: We have organized hundreds of people-to-people delegations to Cuba, and even with the Bush administration coming down on us, we still take groups to Cuba to build ties of friendship.) 4. I publicly refused to endorse a call for Israel to unconditionally withdraw from Southern Lebanon in the 2006 war. (Truth: I always called for unconditional withdrawal, and even went to Lebanon in the midst of the bombing to show my commitment to an immediate ceasefire.)
.
These Black Blocers really are parasites on larger movements. They know they can't do their "Black Bloc" actions of smashing things and fighting with police safely unless they can find cover in some larger demonstration where they can disappear into crowds of people who mostly do not agree with their tactics. And they know police will be close on their heels, beating anyone who gets in their way. That's fine with the Black Bloc types who hope the police violence they themselves instigate will "radicalize" the "stupid masses" who only can be "educated" by being beaten by police.
.
Now if that's not the lowest level of consciousness in "political education," I don't know what is! Worse, the Black Bloc tyeps use intimidation tactics like pieing people to try to shut up anyone who criticizes their tactics. And a lot worse, as I can attest from my seven years of criticizing these macho idiots. Read
my article. The video will be coming soon!

Fourth of July Video - ROWDY Citizens at Play!

Here's my video of freedom loving Americans celebrating... the right to alter or abolish government. In a few years they might be practising it!

July 4: "Right of the People to Alter or Abolish" Government Day!

I took a day of independence from the computer on the Fourth of July. Just laid in bed watching the HIstory Channel's whole "Revolution" series and then the musical "1776." Then took the dog out to watch a bunch of rowdy citizens do illegal fireworks on federal property. YOO HA!!
.
Might even put those acts of civil disobedience up soon on YouTube.Com/CarolMoore! Meanwhile, sear the message below into your brain! Repeat it 7 times a day, minimum!

Ann Coulter is No Emma Goldman - Thank Heavens!

I've opined here on the bad treatment often given opinionated females like MYSELF, ROSIE O'DONNELL, and CINDY SHEEHAN. This for merely standing up for nonviolence, peace and our right to say it loud and clear. The other side of the coin, of course, is women who are loud, obnoxious, hurtful and making lots of money doing it. Did somebody say ANN COULTER?
.
Even I had to agree when
some little web site recently stated "Ann Coulter needs to learn to be quiet." The author wrote: Her most recent beef has been with democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, first calling him a "faggot" and then commenting: "If I'm going to say anything about John Edwards in the future, I'll just wish he had been killed in a terrorist assassination plot." She claims the latter statement was merely her response to a similar comment she alleges Bill Maher made against Dick Cheney.
.
In 2003, Coulter had joked that Edwards owned an "Ask Me About My Dead Son" bumper sticker, asserting he used a son's tragic death to advance his political career. When she appeared on Chris Matthews' MSNBC program HARDBALL in late June I turned it off in disgust. So I missed Edwards' wife Elizabeth call in to the show and ask Coulter to stop making her cruel comments. Of course, this just gave Coulter more opportunities to be cruel to the Edwards' family and to get publicity for her cruelty.
.
Per the rally poster below, Coulter's ticked off a lot of people. Yes, she makes Rosie, Cindy and me look like innocent babes.
.
.
But at least Coulter's not yet taking a bull whip to her opponents as the anarchist communist Emma Goldman allegedly did in the story below. Such deliciously wicked female behavior - and in support of male violence, as it happens.
.
According to an excerpt from Prison Memoirs of an Anarchist When Emma and Berkman first met, Johann Most was the acknowledged leader and inspiration of the tiny foreign anarchist movement in the United States. For a while, both Most and Berkman were Emma's lovers, which complicated matters beyond potential theoretical differences. When Berkman tried to assassinate Frick, Most repudiated the deed for precisely the reason that Emma names here: the American worker was not sufficiently advanced to understand the meaning of the deed. When Most spoke in New York City, and Emma heard he might repeat his attack on Berkman, she went to the meeting with a long bull-whip wrapped around her body beneath her coat, and when Most began his attacks on her beloved Sasha, Emma leaped to the stage and whipped him out of the hall....But Johann Most was right. When Berkman went to prison, he discovered that no one could understand why he had tried to kill Frick, not even the Homestead workers there in prison themselves. Other prisoners thought there must have been some personal quarrel between Berkman and Frick, or some "business misunderstanding." Or they thought Berkman was simply crazy. Not only those in prison. The union in Homestead immediately dissociated itself from Berkman's act, and sent condolences to Frick with the message that they prayed for his speedy recovery.
.
Time will tell if Coulter ever gets such a comeuppance on her verbal violence, be it subtle and political like the Goldman story or more dramatic and personal. Like a large law suit or a pie in the face. Perhaps one pundit's calling her the "piss Christ" of political pundits will catch on. She is one woman who deserves a good shaming for her excesses!
