Blogging on Secession at Vermont Commons

Vermont Commons describes itself as a "newspaper dedicated to the proposition that Vermonters should peaceably secede from the United States and govern themselves as a more sustainable independent republic once again." They invited me to blog from time to time at their site. I'm calling my series SECEDE AND SURVIVE, for reasons explained in my first entry. The topic is "Issues in Secession." You can read the whole article there, but just to list the issues, they are:
  • big state vs. small state secession;
  • learning from libertarian visionaries, left and right;
  • need for clear principles;
  • arguments over gradualist vs radical strategies;
  • central government co-optation and leadership sell out;
  • legitimate discrimination versus destructive bigotry;
  • overlapping secessionist networks and confederations.
Comments, especially about missing issues, welcome! And get that groovy bag and other secessionist paraphernalia at Cafepress.com/secessionnet
