Yet another protest I didn't make. But glad to see they did it. One hates to see an apolitical ophathmologist go bad, but that's what happened with Bashar al-Assad, son of a dictator, surrounded by the dictator's long-time cronies who have profited mightily off their supremacy. Syria is one more Middle East nation the British set up for failure by putting a dictator from one minority tribal group in charge of a bunch of groups that didn't want to be ruled by that group. (See "Friday of Tribes" protest below.) Kudos to the Syrian people for not going straight to civil war. Someone please let Bashar go back to practising medicine. There are lots of prisons that need good doctors.

Die-in at Syrian Embassy
