Searching for half-forgotten lyrics, found this big advertisement at the top of the page featuring them. HMMMMM.... Speaking just as a human being and not an ideologue, and all Mormon underwear aside... Romney is a big sexy guy, that's for sure. And I was always a fan of his father George who had to give up his presidential bid in 1967 after he admitted he'd been "brain washed" by the U.S. military into supporting the war in Vietnam!

Mitt the son is a March 12, 1947 baby, a Pices Sun, Sagittarius Moon, which my favorite Sun-Moon astrology book describes as "The Philosopher." I pray his pro-war rhetoric on Iran is to attract money and support from - or least not raise hostility of - those Israel fanatics (Jewish or Christian Zionist) who can justly be called Israel Firsters; after all there are only so many tens of million$ his Mormon supporters can contribute to their SuperPacs to counter Israel supporters' SuperPacs. I keep hoping Romney's a peace loving pussy at heart, just in case he wins. At least it will be easier to get people to protest at Mormon temples than synagogues if he turns warrior.

Now Newt Gingrich, who is the warmonger's favorite candidate, was born June 17, 1943. That makes him a Gemini Sun and Sagittarius Moon, as my book says, a "Soldier of Fortune." Brilliant but impulsive, like many Geminis he flips constantly between rational charm and explosions of insanity. Let's put his finger on the red button, if you're feeling suicidal!!!

He's heavily supported to the tune of millions by Israel Firster Sheldon Adelson's contributions to the SuperPac supporting Gingrich. (Read all about it here.) Of course, as a Gemini, who knows which way his wind would blow if he got elected. He might knife Sheldon in the back.

Both Romney and Gingrich have freedom loving Sagittarius moons, but not enough to free ME from their tax-spend-drug and other war warrior-indefinite detention oppression.

As for Ron Paul, he's a Leo Sun, Taurus Moon - "The High and the Mighty." Stubbornly determined to get his point across, and too important to pay attention to who's writing his newsletters or accounting for his money. Or at least he was til he got burned enough about it in 1988 and 1996. Thank goodness he's a freedom fighter (for the most part) and not a statist!

So that's my alternate consciousness view of the Republican presidential candidates. As for Obama, I still have a soft spot in my heart for THE IDIOT. More government, now that's the solution to the world's problems. NO! It's the CAUSE!!! Idiot.

But then if I had Israel supporters praying for the Mossad to assassinate me - like the Atlanta Times editor who wrote the Mossad should do the job. (Some have written he was encouraged to put it up as a trial balloon to see how upset Americans would get.) Obama's admitted he's got Netanyahu calling him up every day to bug him. Really just so he doesn't forget that Israelis can kill anyone they want - including the wife and kids and mother-in-law - and get away with it. Not to mention "Samson Option" the world with their 400 nukes delivered from sea and air if they think they're going to lose too much of their stolen land...

Luckily, I only have psycho Zionist Wikipedia editors from England sending me dozens of death threats via email from time to time. Of course, the purpose of all the harassment and threats is too aggravate Israel critics so much they say something politically incorrect so they can say - see we TOLD YOU s/he is a BIGOT! Enough on that source of low conscious frustration - and occasional somewhat higher consciousness humor.

I don't blame all of the below on Obama, since he's just continuing the Demopublican U.S. Imperialist tradition of the last 100 odd years. Don't worry, if a Republican wins he'll do probably 2% better on all numbers, unless he attacks Iran and then look for 40% worse. Well, enough for today on the topics that pollute far far too much of my consciousness.

I'm probably going to Congress tomorrow as part of Wikipedia blackout protest against a law that would mandate service providers to pull service - or even domain names? - from any site than anyone claims violates copyright laws. Like by posting funny pics like this above. I mean can you imagine if every blogger has to clean up all those borrowed images on every blog post - not to mention all those web pages? End of the internet world as we know it!

Anyway, the the statists have all these laws - and prosecutions - against our alleged or imagined conspiracies, and then call us conspiracy theorists for mentioning their really really really really obvious ones - like the man and the dog! At least we get a laugh - and some ignoramus might get an insight - from time to time out of it.

Geez, it was bad enough when I thought the CIA had assassinated a couple of known terrorist murderer United States citizens without a trial. Now it turns out the CIA assassinated a couple of internet propagandist U.S. citizens who merely rage against imperialism, and generally say kill the imperialists. Glen Beck and Rush Limbaugh, those gun loving nuts who are friendly to those terrorist tea partiers better watch out. They may be next on the list. 9/11 - Great for the State!

The last time I saw the World Trade Center, driving in on the bus to New York City in the 1990s, I thought "those buildings are doomed." I remembered when terrorists tried to blow up one of the towers in 1993 and remembered reading that some terrorists wanted to bring the buildings down. It was just a matter of time.

Above is a photo of what I dreamed on June 30, 2001. A square tower of smoke over the horizon. As I write in my biography, I was convinced it was a premonition of nuclear war.

Around 5:30 am on June 30, 2001 I awoke abruptly from a frightening dream. It was sufficiently scary that I wrote in my diary that night: "dreamed looked out window and saw huge tower of brown smoke--realized it was a nuke bomb (no flash) and saw the shock wave coming towards me..." It wasn't until two weeks after the September 11, 2001 attacks that I realized that the strange squar-ish smoke tower I saw was a World Trade Center tower and the shock wave was the emotional and political shock that resulted from the attack.

The day of the attack I was sitting at my desk, the second day of a new temporary legal secretary job, and suddenly I had the unusual desire to listen to the radio that was sitting in the corner. I turned it on and heard of the first of four terrible acts which gave the state an excuse to go to war, consolidate its power, and turn us all into potential terrorists in their little black books. I left soon after the second tower was hit because I didn't want to get stuck downtown in case they stopped running the trains.

Last Tuesday night, ten years later, I dreamed a scary dream of a bad thing happening downtown. Two days later the news blared that "intelligence" said just such a thing might happen. Hopefully, it's just government and media hype to keep us scared. Probably certain "foreign friends" trying to play nice - even if they have to make up their intelligence - as they keep pushing us to fight yet another war for their security.

Yup, cover Israeli spying, and tell people about U.S. spying on Israel spying, and you must be a terrorist! Government needs enemies to pump up its power, and here we are.

Earthquakes, Hurricanes, Apocalypse??

Yep, that August 23 earthquake in Virginia gave me a good scare in DC, even though it was the second strongest I felt. The first being in California in 1987 - and I left town 6 weeks later. And now we have big scary hurricane Irene charging up the coast to rip out the air conditioners and the window frames and backdoor - the house needs remodeling anyway. What next, the Beatles reunite and we have the Apocalypse of Love? A girl can dream....

UPDATE with PHOTOS: Phew, survived yet another brush with death and destruction. Yet given the ignorance of males and the females who enable it, the short term blasts and burps of the planet and the cosmos, and the inevitable entropy (run down) of our sun, let's enjoy life while we may!

Die-in at Syrian Embassy

Yet another protest I didn't make. But glad to see they did it. One hates to see an apolitical ophathmologist go bad, but that's what happened with Bashar al-Assad, son of a dictator, surrounded by the dictator's long-time cronies who have profited mightily off their supremacy. Syria is one more Middle East nation the British set up for failure by putting a dictator from one minority tribal group in charge of a bunch of groups that didn't want to be ruled by that group. (See "Friday of Tribes" protest below.) Kudos to the Syrian people for not going straight to civil war. Someone please let Bashar go back to practising medicine. There are lots of prisons that need good doctors.

I felt THAT sunspot's solar flare eruption

Thursday August 4th I was standing by the window, doing the dishes, thinking about the dogs and housework and sewing and working on my current civil liberties-related Wikipedia article when suddenly I felt a wave of manic energy hit me and my mind started racing: I have to organize a meeting. I have to call people up. I have to start getting back into the world!

My first thought: there must have been a big solar flare from a sunspot! Yup, a double solar flare, the biggest one since 2003, hit the earth on Thursday. Yoo Ha! Better get my ass moving so the revolution doesn't pass me by! Secession and the money hole

It's summer time, and the blogging is intermittent...

But I did notice that the New York Times had an interesting opinion piece on current secession movements in America called "Splitsville." Of course the statist author writes: " The men who wrote the Constitution feared secession, and didn’t allow states to leave the collective fold."

Not explicitly. More importantly, we celebrate the Fourth of July and the Declaration of Independence which says it is the right of the people to alter or abolish government, and that includes secession. Even the centralists who wrote the Constitution (whose date of ratification is barely noticed) had to add the 10th Amendment explicitly says: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

But nitpicking over constitutional law is really irrelevant when the constitution proves itself daily to be a failed experiment, one which lets special financial, corporate, labor union, welfare constituent, military and governmental interests write our laws to their advantage, destroying the economy and impoverishing those who do not receive its largess, so that many who would prefer to work are forced into the welfare constituency. Government collapse is just a matter of time, as recent debt limit quarrels illustrate. GREECE WE'RE HOT ON YOUR TAIL.

Of course, that certainty may make secessionists a little too lackadaisical - it does me!

Whoopie Goldberg really socks it to the fundamentalist Christians who came up with the Traditional Marriage pledge signed on to by GOP-Prez candidates Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum. Until it was deleted from the pledge, this absurd statement was included: "Slavery had a disastrous impact on African-American families, yet sadly a child born into slavery in 1860 was more likely to be raised by his mother and father in a two-parent household than was an African-American baby born after the election of the USA’s first African-American President.”

Whoopie did not mention that the family easily could be broken up by just selling off family members - since they were after all SLAVES! - that's pretty obvious to aware people. The authors and signers evidently are not very aware people. Just a bunch of White Christians itching for Jesus to come back and kill everyone who hasn't converted, including Jews in Israel so that it can become the Christian nation it was meant to be. YUK!!

I forgot how addicted I was to making protest videos til I started on the last two events I attended, in late May and July 4th. I ended up with five! All at Youtube.com/CarolMoore.

AIPAC protest wise (see earlier post), it was great to see mainstream peace groups support protests against Israel lobby groups, as I've been promoting for years, having organized a half dozen such protests 2005-2007. (I missed a similar, smaller protest by them last year.) It was nice to let others do the work and just show up up with my camera - and "don't tread on me" flag.

The cops harassed alleged smokers at first, but organizers and the crowd made it clear that they'd defend their first amendment rights. Plus lots of dramatic personal testimony. I got up and made my pitch for radical political decentralization and secession as the way to free the weed.

I think I'll start listing some of those that impede on my consciousness and outrage me, as I scan my emails and the net; starting with the greatest outrage - war. Today we must memorialize its victims, including the soldiers who die in it. This is my video of the World War II memorial in Washington, DC. My father and three uncles all served and miraculously all survived. I wasn't so lucky an American in my last life, and was bombed by the Nazis as I hid out on a Dutch barge - if past life regressions are to be believed, anyway. Another reason (besides terror of The Bomb? and feminist disgust with patriarchal institutions) I'm so anti-war?

Male depredations continue despite apology...

Gee, did I really think the evolution of consciousness to a higher plane had been achieved with the apology by a few males to all females below? As daily depredations by patriarchal states and their leaders assaulted me over the last 3.5 weeks, I often thought I should blog this and I should blog that. I even started a "Blog-It" folder that is quite filled up right now! Yup, just more incidents and laws and regulations to add to the "long train of abuses and usurpations" listed in rebellious Americans' 1776 Declaration of Independence.

But I did manage to get off my slowly dissolving butt this weekend. (I've joined a free "lifestyle management" to lose 1/3 of my weight and it's working! So I can live longer and bedevil patriarchy yet another 20 years, of course.)

I did rise from the comfort of my continuing vacation from activism and force myself to go to the MOVE OVER AIPAC coalition conference Saturday and its large Sunday protest outside of the AIPAC (rabidly pro-Israel lobby) annual conference. After encouraging left and liberal groups for years to take the issue more seriously, I had to pay my respects to them when they finally started doing it. (OK, so they did protests the last couple years which I missed; but they didn't have a conference with Professors and authors Walt and Mearsheimer those times.)

I met all sorts of people fed up with this special interest lobby -- and others of the hundreds of different powerful special interest lobbies. They have yet to unite into a movement that will break the power of the interests in the only way possible: dissolution of the large states that support them, local organization through direct, super-majority representation, or even some variation on libertarian contractual alternatives. About 400 protesters showed Sunday. The biggest AIPAC protest since 2002 when AIPAC's conference was held while Israel was destroying the Jenin concentration camp and 2000 protesters closed down Connecticut Avenue.

A sign reminding people of Israel's murder of 34 Americans in the 1967 USS Liberty incident, next to a sign reminding people of the continuing Free Gaza movement, which includes Americans working to break Israel's blockade of and starvation of Arabs in the Gaza strip.

Obama, a sell out for power and prestige. (See the Wall Street Journal article "Jewish Donors Warn Obama on Israel." A future Jimmy Carter? Nah, he's a Leo who likes all that prestige.

Guess what sexy babe is in front of the counter protesters' sign with her "Don't tread on me" flag and her "right of the people to alter or abolish government" t-shirt. (No, the sign does NOT say "Support Terrorism, Support Israel", though it should!) The counter-protesters were so frustrated. Their bull horn was no match for the drummers who sat right down beside them and chanted appropriate slogans for much of the protest.

Waco photos - continuing coverup of Davidian Massacre

Just a few items to remind us that the Federal Bureau of Investigation murdered 76 Branch Davidians - mostly women, children and elderly - on April 19, 1993. 51 days after AFT murdered six others.

Depleted Uranium Now Used in Libya

As both Antiwar.com and RussiaToday below report, there's evidence NATO (US/Britain/France) are using depleted uranium bombs on Gaddafi tanks, spreading radioactive dust all over Libya, just like they have all over Bosnia, Serbia, Afghanistan and Iraq. This leaves a legacy of many seriously deformed children and a much higher level of deadly cancers in the short and long run. Adam Kokesh, a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, served in the Iraq War in 2004. He came back opposed to the war and became active in the peace movement. He also ran for Congress as a libertarian Republican in 2010.

I met him when we were both arrested at an April 2007 protest in a Senate office building - him deliberately (see photo), me unintentionally, after shooting my mouth off yelling "It is the right of the people to alter or abolish government." He gallantly gave me a short term loan of $50 so I wouldn't have to spend the night in jail! (See my blog item and video of protest and my arrest.)

Anyway, after starting his "Adam vs. the Man" radio show in 2010 he graduated on April 11th to having a half hour "Adam vs. the Man" television program on Russia Today, a show that lets all sorts of critics of U.S. imperialism spiel away. (See his web page of same name here.) Hey, if your own government discourages critics of itself or its favorite allon its government controlled media (Phil Donohue/Ashleigh Banfield/Rosie O'Donnell/Octavia Nasr/Rick Sanchez/Keith Olberman, where are you?), you have to look to some other government's controlled media to get another perspective!

Below is his second show in which he interviews a couple other veterans of similar perspective, shows a photo of and tells the story of his own defacto torture of a couple of detainees in Fallujah, and shows video of scary U.S. military operations during the Katrina disaster where shoot first and ask questions later was the rules of engagement. Mexicans Protest US supported Military Crackdown on Drugs

150th Anniversay of a Barely Relevant Event

April 12th is the 150th anniversary of the first battle of the U.S. Civil War, the attack on Fort Sumter. Of course, this was a civil war mostly about states rights to impose slavery - plus several other lesser complaints about the federal government.
Future secessionist efforts by states, regions, counties, cities will be about getting out from under the slavery imposed by an authoritarian central government that thinks it has the right to commandeer our monies and our lives to serve the ends of rich and/or well organized special interests, in and out of government. Now some secessionists DO have delusions that they will be able to impose their particular political, economic, religious, cultural or other views on the newly independent entities. And foolish or wicked people always will follow corrupt leaders - from ideologues to kleptocrats - who woo them with demagoguery or bribes. The price of liberty is eternal vigilance - and political processes which can insure such liberty survives.

Update - Other commentary of interest on today's anniversary: A CNN poll found that 67 percent of Americans support the North over the South in the Civil War. Meanwhile 53 percent think slavery was the main reason the south seceded and 42 percent do not.

Of course, how does one define main reason? Given variety of individual and state motives, amount of publicity given various issues, and political spin given to the whole war afterward, and especially by the victors, it's not a topic for scientific exactitude.

Lew Rockwell today makes the point that people are taught in school and via media that the ONLY reason for secession was slavery and the abolitionist Lincoln had to fight the war primarily to free the slaves. Rockwell provides various evidence that that interpretation is propaganda. So it's interesting that CNN asked the question and got various answers.

John Blake writing at CNN lists four reasons that "we're still fighting the Civil War" - i.e., parallels to that time: The disappearance of the political center; How much power should the federal government have? (Nullification, states' rights and secession are issues once again); Unleashing the dogs of war (Civil war lasted longer than expected, like Iraq and Afghanistan); The president as dictator (Obama seen as one, just as Lincoln was - and both usurped power).

He quotes an historian who writes people haven't come to a conclusion because they can't deal with the past of slavery. But I think perhaps the historian and John Blake can't deal with the fact that the federal government has made us all slaves.

Forgot to mention to my dozen plus readers I would be speaking on this topic at the Agora I/O online conference this weekend. Go to the schedule to see some of the "big names" among 70 odd libertarian minarchists and anarchists who spoke. Online conferences are a great idea and it was a great conference. I learned a lot from the many under 30s so active in "social networking" and online organizing.

And sitting on my butt in my room I actually listened more to the speakers than I do at most conferences where I'm usually busy being a social butterfly and promoting my own agenda. Impeach "B-Attack Obomba" for fronting for white racists, etc.

Nigerian-American President "B-Attack Obomba" is fronting for the white racists who don't want the Chinese or Indians getting Libya's oil. They don't want Arabs associating with our big Asian competitors because the White Man has to control the oil - which evidently they couldn't do despite kissing up to Gaddafi the last few years. And then Libya's oil minister announced they probably would give future oil contracts only to friendly nations like India and China. Not good news for France which is highly dependent on the oil - and, oh yes, led the charge to attack Gaddafi.

Thousands of Chinese workers got out of Libya, doubtless knowing it wouldn't be long before the US started bombing? Or maybe they were scared because one of the biggest Libyan resistance groups held its last big meeting in the US? Sure, Gaddafi's bad and his people need to get rid of him. And maybe some more neutral force should do something about it. But not the bunch of bastards running this empire, supported by all its apologists. The philosophy of freedom has to spread to all human consciousness - not be used as an excuse to impose imperial dictates.

Funny how Reuters claims these ideas are part of the Chinese propaganda war. Guess they haven't heard of libertarian non-interventionism. Of course, Lew Rockwell goes further and charges that US leaders enjoying killing all those Arabs and Muslims its been attacking the last 20 years. (See him on RussiaToday.) The Libertarian Party sent out a particularly good press release entitled "They hate us because we bomb them." Will only libertarians stand up when Obomba uses his "let's support the uprising" excuse to bomb Iran??

Geez, I thought Bush was bad letting himself be manipulated by the neoconservatives/Israel lobby. Obama lets himself be manipulated by them, the oil companies, the French, et al. No wonder he's been so easily morphed into Bush's image. I lived just a couple blocks from Obama in 1981-82 in New York. Wonder if he ever came to the many peace meetings held in our neck of the Upper West Side woods. Not too late B-Attack.

Maybe if you stop unconstitutional bombing of other nations, start bringing troops home and closing down bases, end your civil liberties abuses, etc. Ralph Nader and Cindy Sheehan and Carol Moore and tens of thousands of others will stop saying you are worse than Bush and stop calling for impeaching you! Celebrating a Bush War with an Obomba War

March 19th, the 8th anniversary of the U.S. attack on Iraq -- which led to far more death and destruction than anything Saddam Hussein was doing to his own people, and it's not over yet. And now the U.S. (supposedly under French lead) is helping attack Libyan troops, supposedly to keep Omar Gaddafi from mass killing his people. We'll see how that works out.

On CNN's "Reliable Sources" this morning "journalists" discussed how the media was SO exhausted from Arab uprisings and Japanese earthquakes it might have not asked the tough questions on Libya that they admitted they had not asked on Iraq. The truth is, CNN and other media paraded many of the same Neocon traitors promoting attacks on Libya (all of whom also want to attack Iran) that they paraded in the lead up to the Iraq war. They even had a long CNN interview with arch warmonger Benjamin Netanyahu (the puppet master to Obomba that Ariel Sharon was to George W. Bush - as even Ralph Nader pointed out about Bush). But "Reliable Sources" didn't mention CNN and other media's role in promoting these attacks.

Obomba and Netanyahu like to pretend they are like the dog protecting its friend that has come out as one of the dominant symbols of the Japanese earthquake. (See video below.) But they aren't. They are more like a pack of rats with nukes: Netanyahu grabbing up every piece of Arab land and Obomba grabbing up tens of millions in AIPAC and government employee union money. (Since he won't get all those young people and independents contributing to him this time around.) Ugh. Ugh. A thousand times ugh.

Tom Cruise proves occupation leads to suicide bombing

Remember the 2005 Tom Cruise film War of the Worlds? Where alien occupiers are killing and destroying - plus taking hostages and drinking their blood? Tom gets some grenades and gets himself captured, intending to destroy it in a defacto suicide attack. He manages to survive when the alien itself detonates the grenades while trying to harvest Tom's blood.

All this being relevant to the release of a new book by Robert A. Pape, and James K. Feldman called Cutting the Fuse: The Explosion of Global Suicide Terrorism and How to Stop It.

Antiwar.com interviews Pape - a Professor of Political Science at the University of Chicago specializing in international security affairs. According to the description, Pape "discusses the extremely high correlation of suicide terrorism with foreign military occupation; why it’s no coincidence that the surge in Afghanistan has increased violence while the drawdown in Iraq has lessened it; why those advocating no-fly zones in Libya should look at the terrible record in 1990s Iraq; the “asymmetrical” warfare, up to and including suicide attacks, that could be expected in response to a foreign military occupation of America; and the significant progress in convincing Congress of terrorism’s real root causes."

Suicide bombing is wrong. Driving people to it by occupying their lands and killing their people is even more wrong.

Japan, U.S. irradiating subject peoples

Above is the Fukushim I nuclear power plant before it exploded March 12, 2011, after an earthquake and Tsunami. We "anti-nuke" activists hate to say "I told you so." Build a nuclear power plant near an earthquake fault and right on an ocean prone to tsunami, and one of these days one or both is going to cause a terrible accident. Of course, there already have been a number of "meltdowns" without help from Mad Mother Nature. Below is one of the explosions at the plant; not necessarily a meltdown.

Nuclear power, of course, probably would not exist without massive government intervention: funding research, providing funding for construction of private and public power plants, forcing plants on unwilling populaces and, of course, forcing these populations to bear the full brent of accidents by limiting the financial liability of the private or government entities should there be an accident killing people and destroying their homes, livelihoods and businesses. (In this country it's called the Price Anderson Nuclear Industries Indemnity Act.)

And then this morning what floats into my email box? A brand new term: "Backscatter Van." Turns out the government has dozens of vans roaming around scanning civilians and their autos looking for weapons - or cute teenage girls now rendered naked, depending on their whims.

Of course, all those government employees going to work in downtown Washington are probably at highest risk of getting cancer from these vans as they get irradiated day after day, year after year.

The "long train of abuses and usurpations" mentioned in the U.S. Declaration of Independence seems to double every year!

Obama Hypocrisy - Gaddafi bombs vs. bombs on Gaza

No, that's not Tripoli. It's Gaza, after the 2008-2009 Israeli bombing. While Obama is waxing all indignant about the monster Gaddafi bombing his own people, he continues to support Israel's even more dastardly attacks on the imprisoned people of Gaza for 23 days in 2008-2009, just before he took office. And he had his United Nations representative vote against the Goldstone Report, even though it blamed captive Palestinians as much as it did the Israeli bombers. Just like some people blamed Jews for rebelling against the Nazi Warsaw Ghetto incursion which led to the total destruction of the Ghetto.

But that's what oppressors do when their enslaved people rebel, isn't it? Nazis in Poland, Israel in Gaza, Gaddafi in Tripoli. (Funny how we were taught in the 1960s to learn the lessons of the Holocaust and draw analogies of fascistic behavior by the Nazis; at least until too many of us started pointing out that Israel's behavior towards the Palestinians was much like the years leading up to Nazi policies of total genocide of the Jews.)

Metro: check escalator brakes, not random bags

Looks like the Washington DC metro is going to keep randomly checking passenger bags. No one has objected enough to get arrested yet. A lot of people are probably just walking to the next metro since they evidently put a big sign outside the metro stops where they are searching. Gaddafi - just doing what ATF did in 1993

Libya's Colonel Gaddafi has to import poor mercenaries and promise them thousands of dollars for every Libyan they kill in order to try to keep control of his ever narrowing circle of influence.

He threatens civil war, just like statists left and right threaten it in this country if they can't get their way. Gaddafi wants to keep his family and his tribes' control over Libya. Demopublicans want to keep it over America. Don't get too uppity, or you know what will happen to you. Definitely, don't talk about having your own little nation with your own wacky rules and if you do, don't have a legally licensed gun dealer operating out of your home or office.

Monday, February 28 marks 18 years since the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms attacked the Branch Davidian home and church outside of Waco, just because they needed a "target" to practice their new "National Response Plan" bringing teams from several cities together. The ATF agents fired from helicopters killing two and fired at the group's leader David Koresh as he tried to take the search warrant at the front door, mortally wounding his father-in-law. (Of course, said search warrant was never produced, allegedly being "all shot up" in the truck.)

Is that really that much different than what Gaddafi is doing now? Terrorizing the nation.

More than anything it was the massacre of the Davidians on April 19, 1993 that convinced voters to elect Republicans to take over Congress in 1995. Just like G.W. Bush's murderous and wasteful wars on Afghanistan and Iraq convinced them to elect Democrats in 2006. Just like Obama's continuation of those wars, his massive bank bail out and massive new health care bureaucracy terrorized millions into voting Republicans to power in the House and many state houses in 2010. How long will the cycle continue before Americans revolt against a massive welfare-warfare state? How far will we be driven into poverty and slavery? Time will tell...

More Iraq War lies via "Curveball"

Since much of my 50s was consumed dealing with a war based on lies, II'm happy that the Iraqi code-named "curve ball" finally has told the truth: Rafid Ahmed Alwan al-Janabi, codenamed Curveball by German and American intelligence officials who dealt with his claims, has told the Guardian that he fabricated tales of mobile bioweapons trucks and clandestine factories in an attempt to bring down the Saddam Hussein regime, from which he had fled in 1995. "Maybe I was right, maybe I was not right," he said. "They gave me this chance. I had the chance to fabricate something to topple the regime. I and my sons are proud of that and we are proud that we were the reason to give Iraq the margin of democracy."

At least I had some fun and learned some lessons during yet another round of years of peace activism. I feel sorry for those who lost their lives, loved ones, homes, communities, health, sanity, etc. because of George Bush (avenging alleged plots versus his father) and his neoconservative friends' (protecting military industrial complex profits and Israeli land grabs) drive to kill Saddam and conquer Iraq. The same bunch of bastards are hoping to elect a president in 2012 in case they can't finally strong arm Obama into bombing Iran into submission - or the stone age. Someday soon the United States may have a Tunisian-Egyptian-style revolution against those bastards, be they Democrats or Republicans in office. Not a "revolution" of a bunch of government bureaucrats rioting for their bennies, a real people's revolution against our own slavery - secession from and dissolution of our special interest controlled union.

A related issue, since both articles have been sitting in tabs on my browser for a couple days - unequal distribution of wealth. Warmongers who got rich off the Iraq war are just one of the more offensive of thousands of politically connected special interest groups that used their connections to get fat government contracts - or to suppress competition and increase their own profits. Just like in the days of Kings and Lords and peasants we like to think we've escaped. In a free and competitive market unhampered by cronyism and mercantilism, far fewer corporations and individuals would become so absurdly rich, and their competitors would take it away more quickly from those which failed to compete. Sunspots are temporary black spots on the Sun caused by intense magnetic activity that appear as dark spots. Sunspots expand and contract as they move around the Sun. Most solar flares and coronal mass ejections originate in magnetically active regions around sunspots.

And it is these that throw out particles that increase negative ionization levels on earth - leading to human excitability. At left, see how rapidly the number climbed in the first seven weeks of 2011? And the energy from a real big solar flare is hitting us now - so expect things to keep hopping in North African and the Middle East. (And hope the electromagnetic pulses don't fry the electrical grids!)

Of course, you don't need sunspot energy to get mad and organize and march - ask the Tea Party people who marched in really big numbers in 2009 and elected Republican budget cutters in 2010. Unfortunately, except for a few hard core tea partiers, the Republicans have no intention of making significant budget cuts, starting with cutting the military 75% and means testing social security.

States are harder pressed because they often have a smaller tax base and more politicians who caved into the public employee unions. Some were given them truly excessive pay, perks and pensions. So suddenly we're having big rallies against such cuts by public employees. (And of course it's not necessarily the most excessively paid who get the biggest cuts.)

As a libertarian I'm for the right to organize unions, strike and demand collective bargaining; and the right to fire strikers and refuse to engage in any bargaining at all. Of course, the smarter thing is to have a lot more worker owned cooperatives, including schools - without those layers of lazy and/or trouble-making administrators mandated by various levels of government.

Anyone who cares about peace and freedom must be aware of the nefarious role of special interests in distorting the economy, limiting our civil liberties and driving us to war. Any one - activist or observer - who cared about peace and freedom during the 2001-2003 lead up to the United States invasion and occupation of Iraq will remember how those opposing the war were attacked from without as supporting terrorists bent on destroying the United States and its allies. Not a very nice reward for organizing and/or attending five or six peace protests every week, year after year. Some war lovers still attack us - even though the war has been proved to have been based on lies and has cost hundreds of thousands of lives and over a trillion dollars and still counting.

However, many of us also were attacked from within the peace movement, at least anyone who spoke up for the rights of Palestinians or even mentioned the role of pro-Israel special interest groups in beating the war drums for over two and half years. Maybe a few of you even said something in a meeting or on a mailing list about these issues, for example about the vicious 2002 Israeli bombardment of the Jenin refugee camp. Or maybe you commented on articles circulating about the Project for a New American Century or the “men from Jinsa” or the nutty Christian Zionists. (You know, the ones who want the U.S. to start Armageddon so Jesus will return and, as the “Book of Revelation” states, kill all of those - even Jews - who don’t convert to Christianity.) And if you did say or post such things, some of you - whether Jewish or gentile - doubtless were met with instant accusations of antisemitism from one or two “peaceniks.” As we all know, politically motivated false charges of bigotry taint the credibility of those who make real charges of bigotry.

In my local peace group, which had many outspoken people, one five foot six inch “progressive” Israel defender would attack me especially for criticizing Israel. He’d never attack the 6 foot plus burly guys who posted more controversial articles and opinions. I wonder why.

It was worse on the Libertarians 4 Peace and Maryland libertarian email list where conservative quasi-libertarians would “debate” (or more frequently insult) antiwar libertarians and the "free speech" moderators let them for far too long. When insults did not silence libertarians, one five foot six inch self-proclaimed Zionist from Maryland turned to gross sexual insults and even barely concealed death threats mentioning his large gun collection - mostly against me. Again, why not against the libertarian males, including from the DC area, who posted more controversial things on the subject?

In June 2003, three months after the invasion of Iraq, I was still being attacked by these two sexist Zionists. Then I made a mistake which some Israel supporters keep trying to make my fatal mistake. I angrily responded to a news story about Republican Senator Lugar suggesting the U.S. send troops to Israel to "root out terrorists" and fight Hamas in Gaza. Between the constant harassment and the criminal suggestion that American troops should be sent to kill and be killed in Israel, I lost it for the 8 minutes it took to rant in exaggerated and thoughtless language about insights from the many news and opinion pieces I’d read about the Israel lobby’s pushing the U.S. to war.

Those who wish to see all critics of Israel silenced (if not dead and buried) have had some fun in the last six months circulating this email in various places that I will not dignify (or in one case embarrass) by mentioning. I won't even go into how sexist these guys are! So I decided it was time for a lengthier point by point commentary on that post. You can read the Lugar story, my email and my detailed response here. Most of these points are supported by the 106 articles at the libertarian “Iraq war and Israel” yahoogroup. Being forced to think about that horrific 2001-2003 period makes me realize that this whole topic deserves it’s own article at a certain popular site I frequent.

Like many other libertarian and progressive secessionists, I think we need secession from special interest controlled big government. But there are many special interests - corporations, labor unions, government bureaucrats, the military-industrial-media complex, campaign managers and staffers for political candidates, employees of organizations that feed on minorities fears of hate groups, and of course, foreign lobbies, be they Israeli/Zionist, Arab oil barons, Cubans in Florida, Taiwanese, Chinese state capitalists, etc.

To end, in June of 2003 after the U.S. just had launched a horrible war it certainly looked to millions of Americans like the pro-Israel lobby led all the other pro-war special interests. Today, the special interests are fighting among themselves, though they may yet unite for another war, against Iran or maybe even China. There is no doubt special interests will always fight for control of the government, the people, their lives and their money. Americans who want to be free, including secessionists, cannot be intimidated by harassment and threats from any special interest group that is pressing its advantage at any particular time or on any particular issue. Nor can we be intimidated by special interest group hacks, flaks, flunkies and supporters, especially those looking for someone to hate and crucify to make their own sad lives of slavery to the special interests seem meaningful. We cannot be intimidated if we are to remain a free people.

And don't forget that once in a while THE PEOPLE are a powerful special interest! Ask Tunisia's Ben Ali and Egypt’s Hosni Mubarak - for starters.

There's no doubt that these latest disgusting revelations have dramatized how much Arab leaders have lied about supporting Palestinians - and their own people - while selling out to the United States and Israel. (Who must accept partial blame if the result is not more democracy but a new set of dictators, this time religious.) The years of government corruption (bribery, looting tax monies, stifling free markets to benefit small cliques and ever growing bureaucracies, repression against those who complain) and the resulting poverty and anger of Arabs was just waiting for a good boost from a rising sunspot cycle to make revolutions happen.

Since the height of the cycle is still another year to sixteen months away, get ready to hear about lots of revolutions all over the Middle East in the next few years. I loved watching MSNBC when George W. Bush was president because big sexy Keith Olbermann did such a great job of ridiculing Bush and his horrific and senseless wars. As I flipped around to which ever cable news station had the least annoying (or even most edifying) story on, I would land sometimes on Rick Sanchez. He was a little goofy, not terribly incisive, but likable. Of course, after Obama was elected and Olbermann turned into a roaring statist fawning over Obama's quasi-socialist/facistic policies, I got pretty disgusted and pretty much stopped watching.

So I missed him excoriating Rich Sanchez in video below. And I missed him excoriating warmonger Senator Joe - "get your lying ass out the door" - Lieberman, the rant that some say was the final blow to his MSNBC career. (Link to MSNBC video.) Not to mention I missed his last show two days later. (News video below.)

Of course, Fox News didn't fire Juan Williams for saying he was scared of Arabs in Muslim gear on airplanes, but then he said it to Sean Hannity who promotes bigotry towards Arabs and Muslims. As I'm sure others have noted, I doubt Juan would be happy if anyone said the same thing about being afraid of black males who come towards them on the street. I wonder what would happen if a female news caster said she was scared every time she saw a male walking towards her on a dark street. Would political correctness go too far?! Well, this is the biggest one for me so far. Proof positive in writing that "confirmed decades of suspicion that Glaspie had, in the meeting, given Saddam Hussein the impression that the United States was giving him the green light for the invasion," as Antiwar.Com puts it. The Actual Cable from Glaspie is here. See also Professor Stephen Walt's analysis. The only mainstream press I found so far was Israel's Haaretz which wishes Obama would give them the green light to bomb the hell out of Iran. Just in case you don't know what all the fuss is about, Dietz writes:

The revelation would be damning to the George H.W. I kept hearing rumors of some War Department claim about Dr. Martin Luther King, and the link to the press release just drifted into my email box. The quoted official says:

“I believe that if Dr. King were alive today, he would recognize that we live in a complicated world, and that our nation's military should not and cannot lay down its arms and leave the American people vulnerable to terrorist attack...”

The claim is the United States is like the "Good Samaritan" who helps others in need - like the people of Iraq and Afghanistan!! The brown people of Iraq and Afghanistan who the United States has been killing at will for almost 10 years, that is. The people the United States government thinks are sitting on "our oil" while they "threaten our ally" Israel.

You know that little nation with hundreds of (unadmitted) nuclear weapons with which it (not very subtly) threatens the world - and inevitably the U.S. It will use them if anything or anyone threatens its stranglehold on too much of that stolen land. Since Reason magazine complains about the instant politicization of everything, I might as well give them something else to complain about.

"Die, bitch" was written on a form letter from Representative Giffords to the disturbed young man who shot her (or on a peice of paper in the same safe; reports differ). Friends say he was angry at her for not taking seriously a question he asked her at an event a few years back. If she'd been a man and dissed her, would he be so ticked off? Was he so angry this "bitch" dissed him, he nursed it until he tried to kill her?

While people are trying to figure out this mad man's political orientation they should remember that male dominant woman hating is not left or right, but psychopathological behavior.

Having been verbally attacked by so many males who don't like my uppity ways, I would not in the least be surprised if this was a "hate crime" against Gifford as a woman. As a libertarian I'm against legislating mandatory sentences if a crime is deemed a "hate crime," but I'm all for labeling a hate crime a hate crime if it is one.

He also said that if Chinese leaders considered the United States a declining power because of the financial crisis, they were wrong. “I’ve watched this sort of cyclical view of American decline come around two or three times, perhaps most dramatically in the latter half of the 1970s,” Mr. Gates said. “And my general line for those both at home and around the world who think the U.S. is in decline is that history’s dustbins are filled with countries that underestimated the resilience of the United States.”

Update: I read Gates was in China and - Fox News alleged - they chided him in a humiliating fashion on military sales to Taiwan, for which they suspended military ties three years ago. Faced with growing efforts to censor the release of embarrassing information by WikiLeaks and armed with at best a tenuous grasp of the concept of irony, US State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley today announced that the federal government has won the right to host “World Press Freedom Day” in May of 2011, and that the event will be held in Washington DC.

In his official statement Crowley said the move would prove the US commitment to “expand press freedom and the free flow of information in this digital age,” but comes at a time when the State Department is not only championing the attempt to silence the release of classified cables showing a variety of crimes by officials.

Indeed, it was just days ago that the State Department openly warned students at a major US university that if they intended to have any sort of future career they had better not read or discuss the WikiLeaks releases, and a spokesman warned that discussing the leaks would be a “bad move” for any US citizen...

Hollywood and the War Machine

Jesus, DADT and "Christian" Exodus from Military

Here on Christmas eve, some thoughts from this former Christian. I fell from the faith in 1964 at age 16 under the influence of Ayn Rand, the Beatles and my own spring breeze-inspired mystical experience of the unity of all reality. My opinion of the true Christianity is that based on the Sermon on the Mount - not on the Revelation of John (which John still unknown) on the Isle of Patmos who wrote (or has been interpreted as having written) that Armageddon must start in the Middle East in order to hasten the End Time, the return of Christ, and the death and/or damnation of all Jews and gentiles who don't convert Christianity. Those who emphasize Revelation are really John-ists. And that is just what most Evangelical Christians are. John, not Jesus, is their Christ.

Evangelical Christians joined the military en masse during the presidency of evangelical George W. Bush, and were promoted to higher and higher positions in the military. A lot of them really were itching to go on a crusade against infidel Islamists - great way to start Armageddon, since Muslims surround Israel.

Has the end of "Don't Ask Don't Tell" in the military saved us from these people? According to Senator John McCain, conservative Christian ministers and others the recent declaration that homosexuals need not hide their sexual preferences any more means that many Christians may leave the military as soon as they can, or refuse to enlist in the first place.

Good riddance! That's one way to shrink our the U.S. Empire's military! And I bet the real Jesus, and all his manly disciples, would say the same thing! The U.S. is the new Rome, after all. But going broke a lot faster than the Roman Empire which last 500 years. The U.S. Empire is on the way down after only 65 years. I give it another five to ten.

Now if only we knew Jesus REAL birthday so Christians could celebrate it then, instead of co-opting the solstice holidays!

Bag Checks on DC Metro - OI! OI!

One can avoid getting groped by TSA agents by not flying, but it's harder to avoid using public transport in DC if you don't have a car, or don't want to drive everywhere. And now the DC metro has instigated random bag searches. Police will randomly select bags or packages to check for hazardous materials using ionization technology as well as K-9 units trained to detect explosive materials. Yeah, right. When I come sauntering in in my kefiyah carrying my Don't Bomb Iran bomb, they will NOT randomly choose me. Am researching how much you can opinionate to them while their equipment is sniffing my bags without getting arrested. That according to the headline of a New Republic slideshow of good ones, including East Timor, Kosovo, South Sudan, Tibet and the United States (in 1776). This, of course, is a response to the "Secession Ball" marking the 150th anniversary of South Carolina. In publicizing and defending it, once again some southerners prove they don't get it - slavery was bad! They won't admit that in 1860 the south should have freed the slaves, given them just reparations and THEN seceded. And they won't admit today that slavery was a really big issue for most of the states, many of which called themselves the "slave states."

But are the neoliberals at The New Republic really that much better? (Let's not even start on their nefarious reasons for supporting several of those secessionist movements.)

Doubtless a certain percentage of attendees at or supporters of the Secession Ball, like liberals, neoliberals, conservatives and neoconservatives, reject the right of black neighborhoods, communities, cities or counties to secede from the white dominated federal and state governments that screw them at every turn. States that make sure that a large portion of black men are incarcerated or on parole or have criminal records for crimes for which whites are far less frequently prosecuted, not to mention incarcerated.

See this video about a Mom and Grandma in jail for 9 years! for trying to steal a purse when they were drug addicts. Absurd!

That is the black slavery of today that most of the political spectrum - except libertarians and anarchists - support.

So let's make sure we know who the real racists are - people who support federal and state drug laws, don't complain at all that they are overwhelmingly used to enslave African Americans (not to mention kill them freely claiming "he had a gun/it was an accident"). And most would send the military in to engage in free fire if African Americans decided it was time for large majority black communities to secede from the union. (The same for Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgenders who decided they'd had enough phony tolerance and tokenism from the straight world.)

So blah blah blah on you liberal/conservatives, old and new, who proclaim you oppose all those racist secessionists (even Vermont hippies and entrepreneurs) and assure us your motivations for opposing any and all sorts of secession on American soil are ever so pure. (And have nothing to do with your big corporate-state paychecks and expected pensions.) But then, get Sarah Palin in there as president, and suddenly a lot of liberals will be back to talking secession, like they did under Bush after the 2000 and 2004 elections!

Prisoners strike in Georgia - opposing racism nonviolently

With all the talk of racism in this country, and now with a black president, it remains disgusting how high a percentage of prisoners are black men, a large percentage victims of the war on drugs, nonviolent users or small time dealers. "Crimes" for which they are disproportionately arrested, prosecuted and imprisoned. In Georgia, where almost 30 percent of the population is African American, more than 60 percent of prisoners are; 12 percent of the state's population is in jail, on parole or being prosecuted! (Lots of work for government prosecutors, bureaucrats and unionized prison employees, of course!) Prisioners are now doing a nonviolent strike against unpaid work, poor food and medical attention, lack of education, etc. But the main stream media, which did manage to notice when blacks protested bus and restaurant segregation, just ignore mass segregation of African Americans in the prison system. One more reason for blacks especially to secede from the white male dominated union!

As tempting as it may be to focus on a certain wikileaker's condom use/caddishness/rape allegations, it's hardly the most serious issue to wikileak's survival, since other wikileakers will carry on.

So let's not forget the real news is all the evil things the U.S. government has been up to in Iraq, Afghanist and worldwide. Try to focus. What really outraged you the most so far from the Contents of the United States diplomatic cables leak? Just looking at the list erases my memories of shock as things have dripped out; my mind is numb from all the information. Little of it terribly surprising and in the end I say - Yeah, dozens more reasons to get that nonviolent radical decentralist secession movement going. After the solstice holidays...

In fact the main issue still rattling around my mind is: Are denial of service attacks where you overload a server "terrorism" or just nonviolent protest like a sit-in." As opposed to true destructive hacking which obviously is usually a crime, but let's not start on issues of if it's to save lives, etc. Too early in the A.M. for such weighty nonviolence theory debates.

And that was before North Korea started bombing South Korean islands and I read a recent article on China's growing military. (Still tiny compared to the U.S.'s - of course ours might collapse without their money!) No self-respecting person will accept the choice of going through a scanner spewing radiation of unknown levels of danger vs. being groped by high school dropouts who can't get any better job - I mean TSA agents. And heavens forbid you have a medical condition leaving some strange little trace on the scanner image - you get the pat down anyway. Yes, patting your genitals is required.

Who the hell wants to take the chance. And all for what? A 2001 attack that government agencies were repeatedly warned was coming, but couldn't bother to interpret correctly. (Unless they were secret agents of the country that planted the explosives that brought down the twin towers and building #7.) A bunch of alleged terrorist plots that never happened? To ensure people busy killing their own people in their own countries don't come over here and kill a few of us?

At some point enough people are going to realize that US dominance, protecting Israel and making profits for the military-industrial-media complex ain't worth having to drive five days across country when a loved one only has four days to live.

Just add it to the Declaration of Independence's list of "a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism" which so many of us are creating for modern times. This just puts us that much closer to the next efforts for independence of the American people. Let's make it a nonviolent revolution, boys....

Prosecute Bush for War Crimes

George Bush has had the balls to come out and say in interviews about his new biography: Yes, I ordered TORTURE but my lawyers said it was ok. So even if it is a violation of international law treaties that the U.S. signed, hey, you can't prosecute me.

That may be sufficient defense in Corporate-State-Military-Industrial-Media Complex America, but don't expect Bush to be traveling to many other nations in the coming years. Some of them doubtless will be willing to arrest and try him as the war criminal he is. (Launching wars on other nations - for whatever reason, not to mention phony evidence - still a war crime, George.)

See: ACLU request he be investigated. Amnesty International's similar request. Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) also has requested same. And this all in just a week since book released. I must get my lazing butt to the next demo demanding an investigation!

P.S.: A while back I complained about a left wing Democratic Party Bernie Sanders-type anonymous blogger flashing the original of this graphic at me on his blog. Just so there isn't any confusion, when a man throws balls in a woman's face it's sexism. When a woman makes fun of a macho male leaders balls, it's satire. True students of bigotry know that. Philip Giraldi, the new Executive Direct for the Council for the National Interest, writes about Condoleeza Rice's recent visit to President Obama at Antiwar.com:

The Obama Administration foreign policy is virtually indistinguishable from that of George W. Bush, whose heavy handed form of internationalism combined with regime change has brought calamity to the United States. Presumably Obama and Rice were able to congratulate each other on their ability to unite Republicans and Democrats in supporting a seamless vision of the world as it might be if only those poor heathen devils out there would learn to behave. Andrew Bacevich has described the foreign policy consensus that has ruled the United States since the Second World War as a sacred trinity consisting of global military presence, a military capable of projecting power worldwide, and a willingness to intervene anywhere in the world for any reason secure in the belief that Washington is a force for good. These policies have been supported by both major parties and have now led to something approaching war without end as new adversaries are identified and confronted.

Standard stuff for peaceniks and libertarians. As is the call for "Nuremberg" type trials. But it has to be said over and over again til we make it happen. More excerpts from Giraldi.

Those who expect the government to serve the people should be particularly appalled at the revolving door of self-serving statists who proliferate throughout the system, men and women who have never had a genuine job in their lives but who scurry off to their law firms, lobbying offices, think tanks, and universities before returning at a higher level to the government bringing ruin with them.

Seven years ago a major war crime was committed when Iraq was attacked yet no one has been punished, nor has anyone even been seriously challenged on the steps taken that led up to war. The United States bombed and then invaded a country that posed no threat and that had no ability in any event to strike against Americans or American targets. In 1946, the judges at the Nuremberg Trials called the initiation of a war of aggression the ultimate war crime because it inevitably unleashed so many other evils. Ten leading Nazis were executed at Nuremberg and ninety-three Japanese officials at similar trials staged in Asia. In spite of the fact that a majority of Republicans now considers the Iraq war to have been a "mistake," a view certainly shared by most Democrats and the public, no American government official was even fired as a consequence.

If one were to ask who were the potential war criminals in the Bush Administration the list would certainly include Rice. Giraldi also lists and describes the crimes and comfy rewards for the crimes of: CIA Director George Tenet, Vice President Dick Cheney, his colleague Scooter Libby, Bush Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz and his chief deputy at the Pentagon- Doug Feith,

No one is punished or even tarnished by his or her role. On the contrary, all are, in fact, richly rewarded for their presumed dedication to their country. One can well presume that the old saw about every good deed being rewarded has been turned on its head in the US government, with only those guilty of crimes against humanity being considered for promotion. Can there be any wonder why ambitious people who are ethically challenged flock to start wars and torture for Uncle Sam? They know they will never be held accountable for anything they do and will reap the financial rewards that they think they deserve. Until that culture is eradicated by something like a Nuremberg trial demonstrating that no one is above the law the United States will continue to be a place that the rest of the world quite rightly regards as preaching respect for rules and values while rewarding just the opposite.

Supremacism and the Fleecing Domestic War Party

Time to engage in a little United States government bashing, just to even the score. What's up with these U.S. soldiers who kill for sport the inhabitants of the various nations the U.S. attacks and occupies? I know going into the military has always been a great occupation for serial killer wannabees who enjoy terrorizing other soldiers into inabling their deeds, as seems to be the case with Sgt. Calvin Gibbs who led a "kill team" against innocent Afghans.

Is it just the fact that the United States government - an organization using "legalized violence" - has permitted the stray psychopath to have this much power? Or have "Americans" (citizens of the United States particularly) really adopted such Supremacist beliefs about their own moral and political righteousness, that they can justify killing even those who cower before it? Even those whose governments actively cooperate with it, as in Afghanistan and Pakistan?

After all, American children still assume they are the best academically in the world - even though they rank academically even after some "second world" nations. "We're number one and we'll kick your butt to prove it!" - as long as China and the Saudi princes keep lending us the money to do it? (And let's not forget the millions of defacto white christian supremacists, many of whom see joining the world's greatest military as their god-commanded patriotic duty.)

In "Tea Party vs. War Party?" Pat Buchanan writes:
The neocons are nervous the Tea Party may not sign up to soldier on for the empire. Writing in the Washington Post, Danielle Pletka and Thomas Donnelly of AEI have sniffed out the unmistakable scent of "isolationism" among Tea Party favorites.

They are warning that the old right and Tea Party might unite in a "combination of Ebenezer Scrooge and George McGovern, withdrawing from the world to a countinghouse America."

Sorry, but the old neocon name-calling won’t cut it this time.

After Iraq and Afghanistan, the American people are not going to give the establishment and War Party a free hand in foreign policy. Every patriot will do what is necessary and pay what is needed to defend his country. But national security is one thing, empire security another.

And Antiwar.com links to a British article "Be very afraid – we are being fleeced by purveyors of fear" which makes the excellent point:

In the mid-1970s, the Provisional IRA staged some 50 explosions in London, subjecting the city to far greater mayhem than today. Somehow we survived without the gargantuan counter-terror apparatus in place today. The bombing campaign came nowhere near toppling the British government or infringing the liberty of the state. The chief threat to that freedom today comes not from terrorists but from the government's response to them.

Britain doesn't have as big a military to fleece as the United States, so their military-industrial elite has to make due with selling Britain the most surveillance cameras per capita on the planet. In this country, of course, these fleecers screaming "terrorism" have managed to gouge a couple trillion dollars out of taxpayers - in addition to money spent on the actual wars - since the September 11 attacks. (Now remind who it was who planted the bombs in the Twin Towers to make sure they fell after pissed off Arabs rammed planes into them? Why pass up an opportunity to make a couple billion in insurance money from a hot tip from an old friend who's buddies with explosive experts.)

This is the Domestic War Party that is very happy to cooperate with the Foreign War Party (neoconservatives, Israel Firsters and actual Israelis) who have so much power throughout the government and the media. (When Obama's Zionist chief of staff resigns, he immediately replaces him with another one; but I guess you have to do what you have to do to keep Israel from destroying America with its Samson Option.)

At least the brouhaha about the "9/11 Mosque" has subsided somewhat. Maybe someone has realized that provoking Americans to hate one minority for its religion could spill over to re-awakening old hatreds against those who alleged "killed Christ," especially should Israel pre-emptively attack Iran, drive up the price of gasoline to $10 a gallon and lead to 30% unemployment.

I could go on and on, but the bottom line is: supremacism and violence are bad. Being smart enough to know which corporate state bastards are fleecing you by encouraging you to engage in them is good. I hope the Tea Party (and those "libertarians" who seem to like war) are listening.

Raiding Americans to Protect Israel

One of the reasons for my post below, though I had insufficient links/information at the time to say much, was the raid on the Chicago and Minneapolis peace and solidarity activists that was just a fishing expedition for information about alleged ties to foreign terrorist organizations, including the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. Attorneys linked the raids to the Holder v. Humanitarian Law Project decision saying even the most nonviolent protester could be prosecuted if they had any truck with alleged terrorists. See this and this article.

As usual Justin Raimondo is very insightful, including amusing histories of the Obama-supporting lefty groups under attack. In "The Obama Boomerang" he writes in part: Since the PATRIOT Act and subsequent legislation gave the feds a blank check to spy on us, law enforcement agencies have taken the opportunity to cast as wide a net as possible over the legal activities of American citizens whose only goal is to change American foreign policy. Under Bush, and now under Obama, the government is engaged in a systematic campaign to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat the anti-interventionist movement on the home front, all under the rubric of “anti-terrorism.”

Raiding domestic groups who may have had some minor connection to groups the U.S. government - and the powerful interest groups that support it - deem terrorist is just practice for eventually raiding domestic groups that may have even the most innocent association with people who shoot their mouths off about doing violence someday, or break a window or two today. A fact Tea Party members, with all their gun loving friends, should worry about under Obama.

Meanwhile practicing on all the individuals and groups who support ending the blockade of Gaza, ending Israel's murderous military attacks on Muslims and Arabs, ending the U.S. government's middle east wars to protect Israel, including the coming war on Iran, is just peachy keen with Obama, the U.S. Congress and the Supreme Court. Well, at least the latter doesn't have any of those crazy Apocalyptic Protestants on it. (Or any Protestants at all for that matter.)

Below is an incredible assemblage of cartoons criticizing Obama and Israel for its policies against the Palestinians. I'm sure one of these days they'll haul me away just for embedding it here, after all it's got all sorts of images sympathetic to people deemed terrorists by the U.S. government.

Against the insidious wiles of foreign influence (I conjure you to believe me, fellow-citizens) the jealousy of a free people ought to be constantly awake, since history and experience prove that foreign influence is one of the most baneful foes of republican government.

But that jealousy, to be useful, must be impartial, else it becomes the instrument of the very influence to be avoided, instead of a defense against it. Excessive partiality for one foreign nation and excessive dislike of another cause those whom they actuate to see danger only on one side, and serve to veil and even second the arts of influence on the other. Real patriots who may resist the intrigues of the favorite are liable to become suspected and odious, while its tools and dupes usurp the applause and confidence of the people to surrender their interests.

Below is the music video of my song HERE COMES THE SOLSTICE SUN. The solstices being the longest and the shortest days of the year.

Of course, we are on the verge of an equinox, those two days of the year when the day light and night time hours are both exactly 12 hours. After a spring and summer hot enough to convince you global warming is here, it's good to feel the cool and see the sun go down early. Of course I'll be crying into my hot cocoa if we have another winter of repeated massive snow falls like last winters'. Geez, I haven't even put together my video of that yet. (Mostly of the dog jumping in and out of snow drifts chasing her ball or playing queen of the snow mountain.)

I used to get depressed after Christmas thinking how much longer winter would last. Until I was around 22 - forty years ago, gee willikers --and learned about the solstices and that the days actually started getting longer after the winter solstice. And I discovered the then still scandalous knowlege that in fact that's what all the celebration was about in the first place!

Equinoxes don't seem like something to get quite as excited about. But the truth is that many cultures celebrate both, as well as the midpoints between them. (That's what Halloween is.) I'm all for creative rituals and celebrations around such natural events - as opposed to the politicized patriarchal celebrations based on stories and myths whose purpose is to create and maintain male privilege, dominance and supremacy, while keeping the captive females subservient. Yup, burning - or stoning - witches who celebrate those natural turning points has long been a patriarchal vice. And still ongoing in some religiously backward nations worldwide. Sigh...
